About
Lake Lawn Resort spans across two miles of shoreline along Delavan Lake. The resort was founded in 1878, making it one of Wisconsin's oldest leisure destinations. Its proximity to both Chicago and Milwaukee has made it very popular. The championship golf course was not added until 1921, but it is still one of the area's oldest. It has a traditional layout that was revamped in 1990 but the original character was carefully preserved. The course is known for the stately oaks that are abundant throughout the course. The mature trees frame the holes and demand accuracy as well as creative shot-making. There are also deep sand bunkers strategically placed along Lake Lawn Resort's greensides. The greens themselves are quite tricky and varied too. Some have subtle but tough undulations while others are multi-tiered.

Course is overpriced
The course is pretty average. We paid 80.00 which was a discount from the regular fee. The course is not an 80.00 course. I believe a more accurate price would be 60.00.

We had a fun day playing Lake Lawn which is a challenging and beautiful golf course! All staff were friendly, professional and helpful.

Not a value
The weather has provided for very good conditions, in particular the greens (which are SMALL). The entire layout is wedged into a small parcel which makes lanes narrow and the mature trees intrude into the fairways and tee boxes. Keep your head on a swivel as there are fairways all around you. I expect that the resort players and average weekenders who are up for a short course are what lead to VERY slow play. There weren’t many foursomes on the day we played and it was still just short of 5 hours. Curious since there really aren’t many areas to lose balls although getting off the fairway always brings trees into play.
Simply put - a $45 course which is trying to capitalize on the $145 greens fees around it.

ridiculously slow pace of play
on a resort course you have to expect a little slower pace but 21/2 hours for 8 holes was ridiculous. there were four groups backed up on the 9th tee and we couldn't wait any longer. There was no effort made by course to speed up play and no ranger ever seen. Very rude people who did not greet you upon arrival, offer a cart or offer to remove clubs from car. We have played this course before and never run into any of these problems. Some thing has changed for the worse.

Nice course
Nice course, played with my son. Most of the holes are straight with trees lining the holes. Bunkers are placed well. The course is playable for novice but enough challenge for the better player's. I played horrible the day that I was there but it still was an enjoyable round! I definitely will be back for some redemption!
