Cove Cay Golf Club

Tees were O.K. Fairways were a little dry so you get alot of run but mostly like all the courses this time of year. The bunkers were aweful like playing on matted down dirt (No Sand). Greens were very slow and bumpy. All you can see all over the greens were Cup circles where the greenskeeper changed the cups and they weren't done right so they didn't take. Cove Cay you might want to invest in a new greenskeeper because he doesn't know what he's doing and he's ruined your greens.

If you hit it straight you will love this place if not you may struggle

I booked a hot deal on golf now for 3 people. No problem. We added a friend separately on golf now not a hot deal for $51 as shown on the picture. When we get there after driving an hour or more from Sarasota, the guy at the counter says the 4th one is $65. I showed him my reservation showing $51 and he said, 'we don't take golf now. ' They took the hot deal which was a prepaid. I showed him again the $51 confirmation and he said, 'take it up with Golf now. ' I told my buddy when I got out to the cart and the group ahead of us said they did the same thing to them. Nice course. Too bad they are gouging people. I don't leave negative reviews but there seems to be a pattern.

Well used course. Little rough around the edges but nice round nonetheless. 5 hour round is likely the norm here. Greens in great shape.

Shorter course but a lot of fun to play. Some excellent views of the bay on the back 9. Good value for the price.

I've played Cove Cay a few times and the course was always above average in condition. This last time the course was in excellent condition. Keep up the good work!!

Pleasantly surprised with my experience here. Everything 5 out of 5. They have a practice range with cheap buckets, practice green, bev cart, starter who controlled pace wonderfully, great affordable food in the grill, amazing views of the bay, and above all else AMAZING conditions for this time of year in Florida. The fairways were in great condition and the greens perfect. Not the fastest but they were very challenging and pure with little to no pitch marks and blemishes. The layout was not very long but still very fun and challenging requiring players to really plan their approaches with risk/reward options. At the price point I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Will 100% be returning.

Staff was friendly especially the starter. The pace of play was good with minor waiting. Back nine has water on almost every hole. Lost 2 balls on one whole because the roll was too good. Greens were fast . Very hard to chip and stay on. Enjoyed the round and would come back.

Super friendly people there. Clubhouse worked us in on a replay around lunchtime and the course was in great shape. Food was awesome as well. Can’t say enough about this place.

First course I’ve seen in a while where it looked like everything was well kept regularly. If I didn’t live an hour away this would be my home course. Highly recommend this to anyone, everyone was great from the patrons to the employees.

The course played ok. Holes were quite narrow. There were scattered buildings and roads on every hole. Did not have a nice gold course feel to it. I will not be back. Fun as a one time change of pace I guess. The course itself was just very unenjoyable.
