Berkshire Valley Golf Course

I played 72 different courses this year and BV is technically my home course. 3-4 nights a week in season I'm there practicing and playing.I never tire of the view of the valley from the first tee....I call it Gods country. There are very few courses I would play this often. One of my top 5 in the metro area. Only courses I would enjoy playing this often would be Bethpage Black, Shore Oaks, Ballyowen, Knoll West. Black is my favorite but Berkshire is my very close second. Staff is always friendly and accommodating even when I come in late (sorry).Play a baby cut the first 5 holes and you will.score just fine.Enjoy!!!

Giving this time of year the course conditions were excellent and a fairly challenging course. Even though we got rained on drainage was not a problem. I look forward to playing this course again in better weather!

Very nice layout & course conditions were very good except for the traps. A light dusting of sand with hard pan underneath. Very easy to scratch your clubs or worse hurt your wrists. Tight first 5 holes & then it opens out. Visually spectacular. Green speed & conditions were awesome. Pace of play was 4hrs 10 min. Pretty good for a Saturday afternoon round. Overall experience was v good.

Today was my first time play Berkshire Valley and all I can say is wow! Although starting out, the weather wasn't at its best. Some light to moderate rain and winds didn't help me through the first few holes. The clubhouse staff were very kind and helpful. Knowing I was a single they didn't try to force me with a two or three-some. They did make that suggestion to me, but still told me I could go out and play by myself. Pace of play was what you would expect, average. I was lucky enough to have three groups let me play through them. I finished my round in just under 3 1/2 hours. Holes weren't too challenging but they weren't a walk in the park either. This course will expose some of your weakness' but the course conditions and views will keep your mind at ease. A must play for all players! I will definitely be back!

I have received the green-fee charge on my credit card though I cancelled the reservation on 2nd September. Can you check my cancellation record and stop the cancellation fee charge on my credit card.

I didn't enjoy the round we waited EVERY single shot! We had an 11:30 tee time and they had a group go out at 11:20 and 11:25 ridiculous! This course often packs groups with no ranger on 1st tee making each group wait until the group in front reaches the green. Bowling Green does this and they always have a 4-4 1/2 hr round They also have a grill between the 10th and 12th hole which always backs things up because they dont have a call ahead system like Black Bear and Bowling have which keeps the pace of play going on those courses I like the course but because of slow play I only play berkshire a few times during the year as opposed to Bowling where I play 20-25 rounds a year! Also you don't get a senior discount if you dont live in the county! It was a beautiful day today but I didnt enjoy it and lost interest with all the waiting! 5hrs 15 minute round horrible!

This was my first experience at Berkshire Valley and I was very impressed with the golf course.. This first five holes are demanding, so make sure you are warmed up before you get started. The start of the course runs along the mountain ridge and then the course drops down into the valley for the remainder of the round. I can say that this was one of the better conditioned public courses that I have played in NJ and the greens were smooth and moderately fast. The only blemish on an otherwise great experience was the time it took us to complete our round..we started at 12:10 and we did not finish until 5:20. Extremely slow with no Ranger in sight until the 14 th hole. I know the couse was busy but still no reason for 5+ hour round.. Other thsn paceof play....highly recommended!

Well maintained golf course and I will try this again.

This a visually beautiful and difficult course that creates many challenges for all levels of golfers. However after several days of rain this course was soaked and play was made more difficult by drenched fairway turf. This course was unplayable and should have been closed until drier conditions prevailed.
