About
Berkshire Valley has a scenic location in the Highlands region of northern New Jersey. It is known as one of best public golf courses in the area. The course is perched atop the ridge of Green Pond Mountain, providing a dramatic topography for a challenging round of golf. The front of the golf course was carefully carved from a hillside, featuring narrow fairways that place a premium on accuracy. The first five holes are particularly scenic as well as formidable. There are some open holes that play along the cliffs, subjecting them to the prevailing winds, one of these is the intimidating par-5 third. The Berkshire Valley golf course finishes with its signature hole. This hole can be deceiving since it has a generous fairway, but the second shot is uphill to a tough green.

Challenging course - no water
Course was challenging especially the greens. It was in pretty good shape although I’m amazed how many players ignore fixing their ball marks on the greens. The big issue is the lack of water on a blazing hot day - there is no excuse to not provide water. Other than that would recommend you include this course in your schedule.
Very Poor Condition. Avoid!
This golf course is way overpriced for its condition. Don't mind paying 100-150 for a nice course , BUT this course was $105 and not worth a penny over $65 max. Greens in poor condition ball marks all over greens worst I have seen on any course (Played over 20 courses this year alone). Tee Boxes were in poor condition again worst I have seen at any public golf course I have played. The traps are the worst I have ever seen in all my years of golfing, Yes they are that bad! The traps have no sand in them, Only a bunch of rocks and in terrible condition. Not worth the money or the time. Avoid at all cost. Much better courses out there for less money. Forgot no cart girl on course all day, no ranger , Just an all around dud of a course. Layout is good , But like I said place in in horrible shape. Shot 77 and won't be back. Herron Glenn , Neshanic Valley, Rock Spring, Twisted Dunes, Ballamo,r Seqview, Ballyowen all way better options just to name a few.
Way overpriced, Poor Condition
Berkshire Valley Golf Course, What a shame place went to crap. Used to be a decent course now the worst in Morris County for the price. Tee Boxes are in horrible condition really bad. The greens are in worst condition I have ever seen Berkshire in.Can't even putt with ball marks all over every green really bad greens poor condition. The sand traps are unplayable all rocks no sand at all, worst traps I have ever seen on any public course for the price. Fairways were decent . Not a cart girl for the whole round on July 4th, Shame this place went to crap fast , Way overpriced do not play this course. Many better options in New Jersey for less money and way better condition. This course is not even in the top 50 public courses in New Jersey. Try Neshanic Valley, Herron Glen etc. Way better courses and less money. Berkshire Valley is now at the bottom of the list. They will be out of business fast unless they put money into fixing traps tee boxes and greens.
Meh
This course was way overpriced for its conditions. Fairways are a mess. Cart boys are rude and carts were filthy. Saw the drink cart once during the entire round,
Nice course layout
The course has a nice layout, it is very well designed. Nice views of the valley. Very hilly course, some holes are more challenging than others. Overall a very enjoyable experience. I definitely want to come back and play here again.
Gas course
This course was fucjing amazing. Great greens. Views and fairways. Also has a quick little halfway house to get a quick burguh.
