Berkshire Valley has a scenic location in the Highlands region of northern New Jersey. It is known as one of best public golf courses in the area. The course is perched atop the ridge of Green Pond Mountain, providing a dramatic topography for a challenging round of golf. The front of the golf course was carefully carved from a hillside, featuring narrow fairways that place a premium on accuracy. The first five holes are particularly scenic as well as formidable. There are some open holes that play along the cliffs, subjecting them to the prevailing winds, one of these is the intimidating par-5 third. The Berkshire Valley golf course finishes with its signature hole. This hole can be deceiving since it has a generous fairway, but the second shot is uphill to a tough green.

Horrific experience took 3 hours for front 9

Horrific service. Took 3 hours for 9 holes finally called it quits. 4 70 year old women waited till a par 4 cleared off to tee off. Then the manager said “they play here always and are usually fast” meanwhile they don’t have a ranger so I don’t even know how he knows if they are fast pace players or not.

Great course slow play

Berkshire has an incredible view from the 1st tee box!

However its pace of play during the WEEK 4:45- 5 hrs every time Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays! The grill on the course makes very good hot dogs and hamburgers but NO lettuce and tomato for it

Coarse was in great shape across the board especially the greens fast & flat Beautiful as always . The perfect challenge spread out along 18 holes . You’re missing out if you haven’t played this coarse . And at $52 dallar for county residents it’s a bargain .

Ripped us off

Course charged us a different rate than what was booked. We reserved for $80 pp, they charged $95 and claimed it was additional fee for holiday. Why wasn’t this added to the GolfNow reservation at booking? Did they decide to upcharge non locals for additional transaction fees and holiday rates at their discretion? Very unethical.
