Dont waste uour time until conditions improve!
First time trying Spruce Creek. The facility was very nice, with friendly staff, new carts, and a nice and clean appearance.
The course is why I came though, and it is a work in progress-literally!
While practicing at yhe chipping green, I was greeted by a maintenance worker who drove a vehicle on the green to do maintenance. Moving over to the putting green, it was literally covered in sand and seed, rendering it useless.
On the course, the greens werent much better. Heavy seed and sand with aeration marks required the “two putt rule”. Imposdible to expect a normal putt on sny of the greens.
After four holes, things backed up considerably. Upon reaching the fairway on hole eight, a mower showed up to mow the green, pulling the pin as I was preparing to hit my approach shot. Id seen enough at this point and returned my cart, left the course and salvaged the rest of my day. I got a great price for 18/ cart but it still was not worth it considering the frustrations.

Nees better irrigation
The weather has been pretty dry the last couple of months. There are some fairways and tee areas that are showing clears signs of suffering from the drought. Get that irrigation system going!

Bad Outing
We ended up starting behind a shotgun start tournament which made play extremely slow. We did not play the last two holes as the group that started on 17 decided they needed to play 17 and 18 twice in order to get their moneys worth. People cant be trusted on their word or honour most dont have any. Very disappointing.

Spruce Creek Review
Simple layout. Course in berry good condition. One shortcoming is that water hazards should be marked with yellow or red stakes. Most were not marked at all.

Spruce Creek Fly-in Golf Course
This is an enjoyable course, not a great course but a fun course. Conditions were respectable and pace of play was steady. Like many golf courses this year prices have risen greatly from what they were a couple of years ago.

A bit of rain would be nice
All the local courses need some rain, fairways are mostly very thin. A fair deal at a reasonable price.

Need more attention
It’s a nice local course but needs a lot of attention. The green are dry and the fairway needs more grass. Hope that the owner make better improvements.
