The Club at Venetian Bay

I had a confirmed 8:12am tee time and was told I couldn’t start until 9am. The check in staff said it was due to the time change which made no sense. Very disappointed and disrespected

The course greens on the front 9 were all in very made condition. Consistent putting was not possible due to all the random POA grass throughout.

I get the prior deep freeze was a set back in the area, but played other courses in the area that have rehabbed and are in way better shape.

Enjoyable day of golf on a decent course that needs some rain. Disappointed that every ball wash seemed to dry.

Greens were substandard, not up to the usual quality. Cold weather affected them much worse than other courses. They had individual pros doing a practice round and they held up the course in a bad way. 5 hour 40 minute round. Condition of grass on tees and fairways also poor.

Think they should concentrate on keeping their course up to standards and less time getting ready for night gold. Played with some members and they were not happy.

I have played golf in the Halifax area for 50 years. This course was in sad shape. I know that we just have had cold weather BUT other courses are not in the same condition. They charged $78 for the round. The courses condition did not merit this amount for fees.

Course was in good shape. some greens had tiny weeds spattered all around. Our 4some was 22 minutes behind pace after 12 holes (we had to wait on every shot)) according to the carts GPS. No ranger In sight. I had enough waiting and quit. Drove back to clubhouse and left. not a single group on hole 18, the slow group was back on 17 fairway, just hitting their 2nd shots. The course badly needs a ranger to tell groups to keep pace!

Cool weather kept the number of players low so pace of play was great for 16 holes. Then we ran into a backup

Played the white/green hybrid and had a good challenge (usually play white) with a mild wind

Fairways in good shape but because of unusual cold weather the greens were super fast because the ground seemed rock hard, like a 13-14 speed. Undulations only made it worse for missed putts.

Able to play an extra 4 holes before the sun went down because the front was absolutely empty.

This course is a nice layout spread over a large community, good variety of shots required.

However it is in sad shape, greens have sand, burned out spots, weeds, patchy grass. Fairways are ok, t-boxes are sad, very little grass, it looks like someone painted the existing grass, maybe they are trying to repair it. At these prices I would expect better.

They are adding night golf on the back nine, light posts placed in bad spots around the greens, poor choice.

I was surprised been a while since I played here. The course was in great shape. Second green had some damage of a vandals, but I knew about that. We just agreed to move our balls to an puttable area. It worked out fine. Greensboro in great shape like how wide open this court is. we’ll play here again.
