Spruce Creek Country Club

This course was challenging, but not to the extent that you felt like to were "beat up" after the round. The recently aerated greens have filled in nicely and putted true. This portion of Florida was in a mini-drought when I played, so the conditions were dry (some tight lies).

I played with two local golfers who were helpful in navigating the course. They (and the staff) were very friendly. I highly recommend this course and will be back.

Nice course in surprisingly good shape considering the lack of rain we have been experiencing. Looking forward to playing there again!

From the moment we arrived, it seemed like we were an inconvenience. Booked on GolfNow evening before (4-5 PM). Arrived at 7:15 for an 8 o clock ish round. Thought we might get a bucket of balls and some practice tee time in. Moments after arrival, a gentlemen came up and asked us what we were doing there. I advised we had a tee time for 8:12 and we were just early, first timers to the course. Gentlemen asked how we made our reservation, if we were at the right course, etc, he claimed he just printed off reservations and had no record of us. Pulled up confirmation email from golf now with reservation time and receipt for fees paid. After some head scratching we were told course didn't open until 8 and they would get us a cart. Few minutes later we had our carts and made our way to putting green to wait until 8 so we could settle up, load up on drinks and a few sleeves of balls. At 7:42 am a gentlemen stepped out to the practice green and simply asked “who are you?” We informed them we had the 8:12 reservation and gave them our name for reservation to which the gentlemen exclaimed “well, you gotta come in and pay.” We advised we were told things didn’t open until 8 and we were waiting until time to settle up. Appears the gentlemen who got our carts didn’t inform the gentlemen in the pro shop. It felt rude at best and like we were doing something wrong. No one gave a hoot about helping us with guidance or pointers on the course or hazards to look out for. It simply felt like we were out of place. Father in law and I both have played dozens of courses all over the US, this was my worst experience by far. Maybe they are going private and look down on visitors. If that’s the case then why allow booking through golf now? Course was challenging and fun at times despite the newly punched greens. Lots of sand, and not just in the traps. I make it a point to get a shirt or hat from every course I play. Memento for the round and the new course/experience. I didn’t even look at their apparel or waste money in the pro shop. I refuse to spend money on a place who treats folks that way. After today, we will not be back to this course and will gladly head up the road to crane or cypress head. Course is very well maintained. Greens are in excellent shape. Fairways like a carpet. Fairly tough layout, the holes are challenging, some tight Fairways. I like this course and I will be back.

Greens rolled true and appear well maintained. Tee boxes are being worked (typically, tee boxes take a beating). Good fairways and sand traps. Made 4 birdies because of the conditions of the greens. Average community layout (homes line the fairways).

I thoroughly enjoyed a good round yesterday at this course, scoring only one shot over my age. The course is in generally good shape but there were several areas that looked like they were not getting enough irrigation. The greens were fast and smooth but the tee boxes are still in poor shape. It looks like they are trying to lengthen the tee box for Seniors and Ladies on one of the holes. There are several other places where that would make good sense and reduce the wear and tear on tee boxes that are too small.

Unique course on a fly in golf community. Liked the layout but was disappointed in the course conditions.

We enjoy the course. Challenging Par 5 holes. Good condition. Greens are well maintained. It is nice to have ice and water at the start. The course is well laid out. Fun place. And easy to get service from the staff.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day playing with three people that I had never met before. The course was in good shape EXCEPT for the tee boxes. They had replaced the tee boxes just a few years ago but apparently have pretty much ignored them the last couple of years. Also, sand in the bunkers was pretty thin in the three bunkers that I managed to get into.

Spruce Creek is excellent for all level of golfers with many tee boxes! It is a wonderful lay out. Good pace of play most times! The staff keeps the club house friendly and welcoming. It is certainly worthwhile to play.

Good layout. Fast play due to few golfers. Poor course condition but typical this time of year.
