Royce Brook Golf Club - East Golf Course

Royce Brook Country Club,East course is a very beautiful links style golf course that I would highly recommend to any golfer looking for a fun & challenging golf course with a beautiful layout!!!

Good shape for Royce Brook. I like that they are letting some of the fairways brown out, it should play more like a links course more often.

Wanted to cancel my tee time due to a severe rainstorm. $99 x 2. Golf shop unwilling to process refund on pre-paid tee time due to 24-hour cancellation policy. No exceptions for rainstorm. Was told by Elsie in golf shop, "The weather could have been predicted yesterday." Outrageous, in my opinion--she is saying I needed to make a decision before 8am the previous day. No other course has stuck to that policy in the event of a rainstorm.

It's no bother to me, I will simply do a chargeback on my credit card and Royce Brook will lose the money anyway. All they accomplished was to lose my business forever and generate this review.

The course is notorious for spectacularly long backups and slow play; this is the final straw for me.

VERY SLOW PLAY, traps are hard pan dirt with weeds. greens are inconsistent and slow..

It was a nice course I would play there again eventually. The some of the bunker we more like dirt then sand and some were ponds but still not a deal breaker. The outdoor eating was a nice place to eat after also there was a couple beverage carts while playing that was nice.

This course was in great shape. The fairways, the greens and the rough were all in excellent shape. The layout is very nice and offers a good challenge. The one thing that sucked was the bunkers. There is a lot of them and they were all either filled with water or just clay. The bunkers needs work!

I had a 5:54AM tee time on Sunday June 14th at Royce Brook East. I showed up at 5:20AM and not one course employee was there. I waited till 6:50AM for a start to show up and there was none. I left. I called the Pro Shop later that day to get my refund and the gentlemen had no idea that groups were waiting well over an hour to get out. The whole point of these early tee times are to get the round down so you can attend to other things during the day. The course looked great & I'm disappointed that I wasn't able to play. I'm hoping my refund gets processed ASAP & I'd be willing to try again if that happens.

However, the temporary bathroom were not cleaned

& no toilet tissue.

I've played Royce Brook many, many times and this was the worst shape I've seen it in. The fairways were in good shape, but the bunkers were horrendous and many of the greens were in need of TLC. On many greens, the previous hole locations weren't replaced but halfway filled with sand. I'm not sure for the reasoning behind this but it was unfortunate. You'd think with the fewer rounds being played and it being spring, the course would be pristine. Not the case. I hope this isn't an omen for this course because the layout is strong.
