About
Delray Beach Golf Club is the championship sister course to the executive Lakeview Golf Club, which is located less than a mile away. It is also less than three miles from downtown Delray Beach. Opened in 1926, Donald Ross designed the layout and over the years, touring professionals on their way to Miami have made it a habit to stop and play the classic design. Its still-growing popularity is a testament to the quality of the round. It provides a quick round that can be played in just over 4 hours but it still offers enough challenges for low handicappers. There is very little water coming into play but with the strategic bunkering that is abundant throughout the course, water features will hardly be missed. The club also has a reputation for being one of the most well maintained public courses in the area as well.

nice course but unpredictable
We played this course in Feb 2024 and it was great. We played it again on Mar 6th and the greens were very, very slow. They were very fuzzy and we always came up short. I don't know if it was a fluke or not as it was not like this in February. Not sure if I would take the chance again but I really liked the course. Hopefully they rectify the greens as we would like to return.
Greens could be better
On the whole, the course is well worth the money. However, the greens could be maintained better. They have many dead patches and are not smooth
A Donald Ross Gem
Delray being a Ross design one had to expect a lot of protective bunkers around greens as well as slope and turns, and this course offers it all. As a public course the course is well maintained. It was early March so speed of greens wasn't there as grass had not had achance to grow yet.

shameful to see a 1923 donald ross course in such deplorable conditions The greens averaged about 60 gras coverage and wasn't mowed recently as were the tee boxes unmowed for at least 4 days
Nice design, the greens with grass are slow!
Played here many times, course is nice, fairways pretty hard, but okay. Many greens have a lot of bare spots, big bare spots. The greens that have grass are shaggy and super slow.

A disgrace to allow such horrible course conditions for a 1923 D Ross gem. Many bare areas on greens, greens not mowed for at least 5 days where there was grass
Tees not mowed for 1 week and needed to play preferred lies elsewhere AND this is peak time of in season
Slow Slow, slow, slow
Had an afternoon teatime that was delayed more than an hour. They had groups of five course that played very slow. Constantly had the group behind us hitting golf balls right into us. The course ranger was no help other than Driving around and giving people sippy cups of alcohol. The course is beautiful, but not worth the money or the time.
worst course i have ever played in south florida
the greens rolled at 5.5 the over all condition was awful and you should take this course off your list of courses to play
