About
Delray Beach Golf Club is the championship sister course to the executive Lakeview Golf Club, which is located less than a mile away. It is also less than three miles from downtown Delray Beach. Opened in 1926, Donald Ross designed the layout and over the years, touring professionals on their way to Miami have made it a habit to stop and play the classic design. Its still-growing popularity is a testament to the quality of the round. It provides a quick round that can be played in just over 4 hours but it still offers enough challenges for low handicappers. There is very little water coming into play but with the strategic bunkering that is abundant throughout the course, water features will hardly be missed. The club also has a reputation for being one of the most well maintained public courses in the area as well.

Course pretty good; Staff super nice
We like playing here- staff very friendly, course layout nice, overall course conditions pretty good. A few greens needed some tlc.

Good enough
I like playing here as it is a good enough test. The greens are good for the most part. Fairways ok. Tee boxes good enough. Bunkers are not so good with not much sand to get a good feel for them. I think it's good value for the cost today.

Nice local course

Still no updates
I understand the city is trying to recoup money lost during COVID: but two things stood out to me today. One, there should be no additional fee for a single rider golf cart. I don’t believe that was ever the case prior to COVID and some folks may still not be comfortable riding with a complete stranger. Second, there are major repairs that need to be done to some greens. After charging $60+ In greens fees during season, the course looks and plays terrible. In some fairways it feels like concrete under your feet. Many greens have large sand spots that completely screw up any chance at making a putt. The city needs to help give some tlc because you’re losing money to Lakeview around the corner. At least you can see that they try and put money back into the course. It’s 100X better than it was last summer.

Poorly maintained
The course conditions have gone down since the last time I played here in 2019 and they weren’t good at that time either. The traps need more sand and tee to green grass is thin and patchy in many areas.

Course Conditions
Good size course. Problem was the course is not in good. condition. Fair amount of weeds and dry grass. They may have also aerated so that contributed to the problem. Still worth going if you don’t care about your score because of the condition of the course.

Good layout and good pace of play.
Front nine fairways had just been aerated but playable . I play this course often. I always like the layout and workers are friendly. If the city would take some money and improve fairways and greens it would be a very good public golf course.

I’d rather play in my back yard. There’s absolutely no difference between fairway and rough and even the green. I would hardly even call it a golf course. More like an open field with sandboxes for children, with miserable pro shop employees. You couldn’t pay me to play this ‘golf course’ again. No clue how it has 3.5 stars.
