About
The 27-hole Neshanic Valley Golf Course is the flagship course of the Somerset County Park Commission system. The renowned design team of Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry created the course. Divided into three nines known as the Lake, Ridge, and Meadow, the course provides three different 18-hole combinations. Each par-36 nine has five different sets of tees. The Meadow/Lake Course features ample amounts of fescue along both the fairways and greens. If you don't hit straight off the tees, you may find yourself in some trouble. There are cavernous bunkers framing the greens, which are also subtly sloped for even more of a challenge. The golf course begins and ends with water holes but you'll find environmentally sensitive wetland areas that come into play throughout. In addition to the 27-hole course, Neshanic Valley also has a nine-hole, par-32 Academy Course.

Greens aerated
The course layout is great! Lots of challenging holes with good risk/reward opportunities. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The greens were punched and barely puttable. It would have been good to know ahead of time. Looking forward to playing again when the greens are playable. GolfNow should do a better job of notifying their customers of course conditions at the time of booking.
Always Solid
This is a top 2-3 public course in NJ. They could easily charge what they want regardless of conditions. We booked a time not knowing greens were punched the week prior. Our rate was $82 for green fee and cart. When we arrived they dropped the rate by $30 per player!! No courses really do that. So to see the top shelf course do it was awesome. We still enjoyed our round and the course was perfect. Believe it or not even just a week out the greens were puttanle. We always try and get a few rounds in at Neshanic every year.
Course conditions were outstanding even with aerated greens
Awesome course
I always love playing here… all three 9’s are fun and always in good shape… they aerated a few days back which wasn’t great for putting… but can’t hold that against them!
Amazing
Course is breathtaking, every hole is better than the next. If you have not played Neshanic it’s a must play course in Nj. Easy to get to right off the highway could not recommend this course more.
Great conditions
Greens were in fantastic shape and fast. Bunkers had actual sand and very playable. Fairways in very good condition. Great course!

Great Public course
Always ranked in top few public course in all of NJ & for good reason. The 27 hole layout[not including the Academy course] is thoughtful, picturesque & good for all levels of play<i.e. 4 different tee boxes/markers>.
Is it a bucket list course, like Bethpage Black, ... of course not. Is it an excellent buy for the $$[even if out of county] ... Yes !
