About
The 27-hole Neshanic Valley Golf Course is the flagship course of the Somerset County Park Commission system. The renowned design team of Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry created the course. Divided into three nines known as the Lake, Ridge, and Meadow, the course provides three different 18-hole combinations. Each par-36 nine has five different sets of tees. The Meadow/Lake Course features ample amounts of fescue along both the fairways and greens. If you don't hit straight off the tees, you may find yourself in some trouble. There are cavernous bunkers framing the greens, which are also subtly sloped for even more of a challenge. The golf course begins and ends with water holes but you'll find environmentally sensitive wetland areas that come into play throughout. In addition to the 27-hole course, Neshanic Valley also has a nine-hole, par-32 Academy Course.

First time playing snow golf
Friend and I got a great deal on GolfNow but we should’ve checked the weather forecast before confirming. It was cold, windy and we even saw some snow flurries in the mix. We played Ridge to Lake. But the course was in a great condition: tee boxes and greens were superb for winter and the fairways were well maintained. I was very impressed with how fluffy the sand was in the bunkers. They definitely maintain this course. 18 was my favorite hole but there a lot of challenging holes. I had a fun time watching my drives sit in the air for 5 seconds, only to travel 120 yards. Can’t wait to return in the spring or summer to get a proper look at the courses.
Best public course in NJ
The Best Public Course in State of Nj I recommend everyone play it. Greens are absolutely perfect Fairways are like carpet and every Tee Box is perfectly level. The rest is up to you
Great Winter course
Always a good time the Neshanic Valley golf course. 3 really good 9 hole courses. The courses drain well , if it is clear of snow & above freezing they are open. Layout is top notch.
Great layout.
My only complaint this course with this course is that it is not closer to my home. The elevated tee boxes and wide fairways coupled with smooth greens make for a great day of golf. Bring a steel spike to get your tee started as many of the tee boxes are slightly frozen just below the ground surface.
Great fair lsyout
Beautiful course with great layout. It only has few blind doglegs and hidden traps.
Hard to find any better
Hot deal price was excellent.
Course conditions for late November were very good.
Layout is always challenging with a premium on shot making.
If the wind is blowing, hang onto your hat !
Election Day round
Golf now offered a great price for early November.
Course was not crowded except for the 4some in front of us. Conditions were EXCELLENT and greens rolled true.

Excellent course, but normal price is high
Neshanic Valley is a county owned golf course with near-Country Club conditions. The greens, fairways, sand traps, and rough are all in excellent condition. Most tee boxes are in great condition with some a little chewed up - still really good, but not excellent condition.
One bad aspect is that the starters are not allowed to let GolfNow players tee off early. Even if the tee is empty for several tee times before your assigned tee time, they are supposed to hold you until your assigned tee time.
