About
The 27-hole Neshanic Valley Golf Course is the flagship course of the Somerset County Park Commission system. The renowned design team of Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry created the course. Divided into three nines known as the Lake, Ridge, and Meadow, the course provides three different 18-hole combinations. Each par-36 nine has five different sets of tees. The Meadow/Lake Course features ample amounts of fescue along both the fairways and greens. If you don't hit straight off the tees, you may find yourself in some trouble. There are cavernous bunkers framing the greens, which are also subtly sloped for even more of a challenge. The golf course begins and ends with water holes but you'll find environmentally sensitive wetland areas that come into play throughout. In addition to the 27-hole course, Neshanic Valley also has a nine-hole, par-32 Academy Course.

A great place to play
A very nice layout...visually very appealing. Greens are not that challenging, which helps with pace of play on a County course. The staff is very friendly. Word to the wise: be straight off the tee because the environmental areas will eat you up otherwise!
Great course
Neshanic is a challenging course that’s always in great condition. Play from the tees that match your handicap or it will be too difficult. Stay out of the fescue or you’ll have a long day! Staff always pleasant.
Great Golf
A wonderful albeit Difficult 18 in a Beautiful Valley with plenty of Challenges Elevation changes and quick Greens .. Loved it will be back soon
A Fun Links-y Course in Good Condition
Neshanic Valley GC offers a visually appealing links-style golf course that's well maintained and a very good value.
This was my first Hurdzan/Fry designed course and found it very appealing with nice wide-open fairways, some different angles to play from, and fair greens.
Overall the conditions were also very good with nice even and thick rough, lush fairways, and greens that rolled true, despite being slower than normal (apparently) from aeration a few weeks back.
The starter was thorough in his pre-round overview (there was a lot of COVID-19 restrictions to go over) and overall I found the round to be a good value. Would definitely come back and play here again, I'm curious to see how the faster greens would play differently.

Twilight???
I love this facility, but come on now. $50 for a 6:15pm tee time??? What ever happened to twilight rates? And we needed to have the carts back by 8pm. Fortunately we finished nine holes.....
What’s wrong ??
I arrived 3 minutes before my T time
I was received with a lecture on importance of arriving at least 15 min early. I was asked if I am familiar with course and I said yes, however that lecture continues to tell me how to use the cart and what to avoid. I have no problem if the attitude was friendly but it was not.
The treatment was awkward and abnormal for this course
I play most of my rounds in this course and never had a problem
I will give it another chance but I meet this attitude again I will decide if I should continue playing in this course
Why?
My "home course" is Mattawang in Hillsborough , NJ. On there personal web site I can reserve a tee time for one person. On your site the requirement is two people.. Why?
Since the virus , Mattawang no longer offer tee time on their site...and I can not play on your site as i am a single, Why?.

Neshanic has three links style 9s Ridge, Lake and Meadow. Generous fairways, consistent good course conditions and a wide variety of hole design make ever round fun. The wind and fescue are the courses primary defense. Enjoy!
