Neshanic Valley Golf Course is a 27-hole layout that was designed by the renowned team of Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry. The course is divided into three nines that can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The nines -- the Lake, Ridge, and Meadow -- are named after the different features of the varied terrain but each par-36 nine has five different sets of tees, which provides playing options for all skill levels. On the Meadow/Ridge Course you'll find ample fescue along the fairways and greens. The greens are especially tricky since not only are they framed by massive bunkers, the putting surfaces are also contoured. Though the slopes are subtle, they can be very tricky. There is a pond on the front nine and environmentally sensitive wetlands come into play throughout.

Fun Morning Round of Golf

I walked out as a single as paired with 2 senior men and one female single not knowing what to expect. The pro shop attendant and the starter were very nice people. The people I played with were very friendly and we had a fun round of golf. The course was in great shape and we finished the round in less than 4.5 hours. I am visiting from out of state and will come back and play this course the next time I am visiting the area.

Pace of play was the worst I've ever encountered there. No ranger. I seen a foursome on the 16th hole take 24 minutes to complete a short par 4 while 2 groups were waiting on the tee box behind them. No etiquette! Need a ranger. First 9 was an hour and 40 minutes. The second 9 was 3 hours. Should not happen!

Many holes require precision tee shots to avoid well placed hazards. Course layout is well designed and requires a number of different shots. Grounds crew keeps this course in great condition from tee to green. A good test of your skills.
