Scotland Run Golf Club
About
Scotland Run Golf Club is conveniently located less than a half hour from downtown Philadelphia and only 45 minutes from Atlantic City. It has been voted the top golf course in the Philadelphia Region and it's also ranked in Golf World's Top 50 Public Courses in the country. The layout is routed through and around an old sand quarry, providing a unique mix of wooded, quarry, and links-style holes. The distinctive landscape has unique features including expansive waste areas and imposing cliffs that were deftly incorporated into the design. The golf course is wide open, which means it's at the mercy of the prevailing winds. Scotland Run Golf Club is a tough but fair test where you'll face forced carries, water hazards, and strategically placed bunkers. On mornings where the fog rolls off of the hills, for a split second you might think you're at St. Andrews.

Awesome time with friends
Great course with a super friendly staff. Fairways are in good shape and greens were perfect.
Spectacular.
I usually don't play on Sundays because of the crowds and typical slow pace, but Scotland Run does it right. Although we tees off for the heat (12:20 got up to 92) we didn't see anyone until the last 3-4 holes. The course was as lush as I've played and the greens ran true. The cart girl found us plenty of times throughout the hot and humid afternoon and the woman at the halfway house couldn't have been more accomodating and nice. On a side note, there must be a jump school not far from the course since all afternoon we watched parachutes gliding through the air above. Over a spectacular round.
Fun course if you get a tee time for the right price
This was my first time playing the course. I thought it was a good layout with a nice mix of long and short holes. My only complaint would be the greens were a bit chewed up with a lot of ballmarks- they were still a good speed though. I found a Hot Deal tee time for a Saturday afternoon, but I think the normal green fees are a bit steep for the course.
Book on a hot deal and you can not go wrong.
Staff was super attentive and was offered complimentary coffee prior to the round. Course was in great condition considering significant amount of recent rain. Due to rain in the forecast course and super early tee time was not crowded and as a twosome played a 3 1/2 hour round. Great value.
Excellent course at a fantastic price!
Love Scotland Run, never disappoints and the only thing better than playing the course is the lunch at the club house following the round.
Course is tougher than it looks
Played in a light rained most of the day, but course was in good shape, Greens were still fast, Would go back again
Awesome course - must play it
I played Scotland run a good amount of times and thought it would be time to rate it.
it is a great course and and very well maintained. the staff is friendly and the restaurant serves nice food. Basically it is worth every penny you spend.
I love the layout which tests every single part of your game.
If you can shape your irons it will give you an opportunity to score in some difficult holes but you will need to be good at putting to quantify. Be ready to be tested with many double breakers. Driver accuracy is also a plus as you will need every single yard you can get out of your club especially on the 16th hole where you are required to drive the ball over the quarry.
17 is a long par 4 and 18 is an uphill par 5 where you need to play the left side of the fairway.
Play it you will love the challenge.
I think Scotland Run is the best public facility in the hearth of south jersey.
Some great holes here
This is the most interesting public course in the south Jersey area. There might be better maintained courses out there, but the layout of this course is great. Pace of play is perfect, and the staff there was great. I love playing at Scotland Run.
Fun and challenging course
This course is a fun & fair challenge. Beautiful scenery. A bit pricey, but worth a play for sure.
great course
The course was in great shape! and staff was very friendly I will recommend this course to everyone.
Great. Course
Great layout, best greens I putted on in a long time! Great value on golfnow!
This course was a breath of fresh air. Well with the 75 minute drive time.
Everything was a "ten" from tee boxes to fairways to immaculately manicured greens that had very true roll!
Nice mixture of challenging high risk/reward and straightaway holes. I am an 18 handicap and shot 99.
very enjoyable for the price.
I played the course when it was wet along with early dew. The greens were cut before we played them so the dew didn't effect them much but they speeded up during the day.
The driving area was very reasonable and it turned out being a fun course.
Challenging, and asthetically pleasing.
Course was in great shape, a little wet in spots, but we have been getting a ton of rain lately. I can't wait to play here again
Great Track convenient to Philly
This was my second trip to Scotland Run in 3 years. As a foursome, we were able to scoot around in just over 3 hours, and despite having received 6 inches of rain in the days prior to our visit, the course was playable and pristine. The staff was great, and the price was fair. I look forward to our next visit.
Great Course
good course to play, fast greens and if you like links style courses you will like this course.
Interesting.
First word that comes to mind when describing this course is "Character". Although the front nine is nice to play, the back nine is both interesting and challenging. Club selection is at a premium and knowing how far you hit each club from different lies becomes paramount. The most interesting hole is the par 4 16th (see picture). You have to carry a gorge to the small landing area. Notice the small airplane at the bottom of the gorge, after teeing off we'll play a second junk ball and wager on trying to hit the plane ($1 per man to hit the plane, $5 if you get it in the cockpit) Overall I highly recommend playing this course and I'd bet your experience will bring you back.
Reminded me of the better courses in Mrytle Beach
** The yardage book is not close to being accurate from the back tees on every hole**
*** Noteable No. 17 carry is 280 plus to the corner not 220/240......there's a yardage disk just left of the waste bunker stairs that shows 113 to the center of the green***
****Some greens have extreme tiers requiring proper or exact yardage on approaches****
Conditions: 4 out of 5 stars
Fairways:Wide width tight lies but not excessive roll on the driver
Greens: firm good condtition (it's a relatively young course)
Layout: VERY UNIQUE......part of an old quarry on the back nine with expansive waste bunkers. (you'll notice an old plane along with random rusted large quarry equipment)
Can't wait to play this course .....it put me in a good mood.
always a fun course.
course has a lot of looks that are unique, don't see old planes in sand caverns everywhere. good selection of t boxes, fast, nice rolling greens. thank goodness for golf now , not sure I would pay full price to play this course on a weekend.
