Scotland Run Golf Club
About
Scotland Run Golf Club is conveniently located less than a half hour from downtown Philadelphia and only 45 minutes from Atlantic City. It has been voted the top golf course in the Philadelphia Region and it's also ranked in Golf World's Top 50 Public Courses in the country. The layout is routed through and around an old sand quarry, providing a unique mix of wooded, quarry, and links-style holes. The distinctive landscape has unique features including expansive waste areas and imposing cliffs that were deftly incorporated into the design. The golf course is wide open, which means it's at the mercy of the prevailing winds. Scotland Run Golf Club is a tough but fair test where you'll face forced carries, water hazards, and strategically placed bunkers. On mornings where the fog rolls off of the hills, for a split second you might think you're at St. Andrews.

Great value
Course was in great shape. Not overly tough. I would recommend this course to everyone.
Great course
Lots of work bing done on traps and still was in great shape one of my favorite courses
Scotland Run Is A Must Play
My wife and I played the back 9 on a Wednesday evening after getting a greatly discounted 18 hole rate on Golf Now. After making the reservation I received a call from the golf shop explaining that there was a golf league and that we would only be able to play the back 9. Not a problem. We expected to play only 9 holes anyway given our start time but I appreciated the heads up. The staff was friendly and helpful. The course is challenging and well maintained although a few tee boxes need more grass. Overall this is a 5 star course. We will be back!
Best course around!!!!
Alway in great shape, never a wait, tee times are spaced very well. Great staff!!! This course is as close to perfect as it gets.
Excellent Course condition
I am a member of Scotland Run & purchased an additional tee time for my wife. Cannot say enough about the condition of the course. Tee boxes, fairways & especially greens were in excellent condition. Scotland Run is always a challenge with parkland & links holes over & around a sand quarry. It has never been in better condition! You should go out & play there.
Best course in sj
I love this course. it's in great shape staff is awesome and the club house is best around
Great condition
The course was in great condition. Pace of play was 4 hours. It was a very nice round. Would play again soon.
Absolute Must Play in NJ
Let me start by saying I've never reviewed a course before. I felt I had to write because of how good my experience was. This is a must-play course in NJ. We don't have an abundance of excellent public golf courses here in NJ, but this is on par with some of the nicest public courses I've ever played anywhere. The layout is interesting - you can't anticipate what the next hole is going to be like since you generally can't see many other holes from the one you're playing. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The course was in excellent condition even though its relatively early in the season. The greens were very challenging, lots of two tiered greens and other surprises to make approach shots more challenging and interesting. And its just a beautiful course to look at. Well worth the price. Play here - you won't regret it.
nice south jersey course
Played a c- game on this fair course with interesting par threes and an unusual set of par fours, because they fluctuate between long and short, with nary a 375 among them. Enjoyed the back nine with more scenic holes, and some cool leftovers from the sand quarry on which the course was built.
challenging
Greens got a lot of divots unfixed but Challenging layout and greens got enough undulation to keep you focused. Overall, very good course.
very challenging track
I was very impressed with the layout and water holes/waste bunkering gallor. Only downside was the greens were punched and some of the fairways were irrigated. Greens are very large with a lot of ungellation, plus the fairways were soft and thick, which promoted nice long divots though impact area. In two weeks this course will be ready for players of all calipers.
Rough shape after harsh winter
Greens were aerated. Everything was still brown.
Nothing has started growing yet. Still winter like conditions.
First day over 60 degrees in 2015. Check back in a month.
Always fun to play
It was 50 degrees in December and the course had a shotgun start after a frost delay. Round took almost 5 hrs but we did play a few extra holes. Always fun to play and the price was right.
Nice Round of Golf
Played here 7 years ago. Never came back until yesterday because staff was rude and course was packed, no ranger, and group behind us hit up on us on the very first hole. Yesterday was different. Staff could not have been more pleasant. The course was not packed(probably because it was 42 degrees). No one hit up on us. Bunkers could have been in better shape though, full of leaves and water. No cart girl and the halfway house was closed too. Still it was tons better than last time. I will be back.
Still in great shape even in December
It rain for 24 hours on the day before we play. There was some wet spots on the fairway, but green were in great shape for December. A lot of courses already stop maintenance but we still see crews blowing the leaves and rolling the green. The food stand at the turn wasn't open and there were no starter but we were expected for winter. We finish the round under 4 hours (It could be faster if it wasn't for cart path only). Overall, we have a good experience.
Great Course
Course is excellent. Conditions of the course were great even at the end of the season. Very Challenging with nasty bunkers and forced carries. Best course I've played
A Great day of Golf at Scotland Run
The play was well paced, plenty of bunkers and water hazards to keep us on our toes. The day wasn't too busy so we weren't rushed and those who played through did so only after we asked them if they wanted to play through. This course is a bit unforgiving if your not real confident in your clubs. The fairways are long but narrow with some heavy rough in between. Lost a few ball that day, but for me that's not really a new thing. I would recommend this course to anybody who lives in the South Jersey area.
