Excellent condition

For this time of year the course was firm and very well maintained. The greens were excellent.

Picturesque course with great views of Dublin.

I’d play again here.

Edmondstown GC

Where do I start... I'm a local man living just a 15 minute drive away from the course. I've waited over 20 years to play Edmondstown (long story). To say it was a major let down is an understatement. Nothing spectacular about this course whatsoever. IM GUTTED! Very average boring course. I didn't feel the excitement/challenge until the 4th hole (coincidentally where I use to watch the players from the public road through the gates in my car as a teenager, dreaming of playing Edmondstown one day). I built the course up too much in my head. It's always been on my bucket list.

The 5th so called par 5 (long par 4)... I did par it with a 5. Nothing spectacular just a straight hole like many. The 6th, let down by bringing the green forward (I understand why. But it takes out the water). Par 4. Par is what I got. Very average hole. Like the 7th (just a straight boring par 5)... again a long par 4. The 8th par 3... average hole. I hit it short with a 5 iron (delicious chip... saved par). 9th not bad. Dog leg from straight to left. Another par nothing amazing. You can skip the 10th and 11th. 12th not bad uphill dog leg straight to right. 13th par 3 average. 14th 15th and 16th like playing the same holes... snooze fest! Drive and wedge/ 9 iron and your in. 17th you've to walk back off the 16th Green towards the clubhouse ALONG THE PATH THE CARS ENTRANCE IS SHOCKING!!! Smashed a 3 iron just short (uphill walk) delicious chip saved par. 18th downhill (although uphill from the 17th green to the 18th tee box). Smashed one (driver) down the centre of the fairway... again wedge or 9 iron gets you onto the dance floor. Not exactly Augusta National. Lipped the hole for birdie another par.

Absolutely NOTHING EXCITING ABOUT EDMONDSTOWN. I'm genuinely GUTTED!!! The course is too small. It's basically a long par 3 overall.

To charge/ask (new) members to cough up €12,000 ENTRANCE FEE ((hello money))) should be a criminal offence. Then pay an additional €1,800 subscription fees PER YEAR!!!!! YOU NEED THE HEAD EXAMINED. I Wouldn't pay €3k entrance fee.

Today every green was plugged with irrigation holes and covered in sand. I know this needs to be done (DO IT OVER CHRISTMAS WEEK NOT SEPTEMBER)!!!!!! SHOCKING. Green fees should be cut in half during this work process.

My dreams/hopes destroyed... EDMONDSTOWN is finally off my bucket list.... that's all I can say.

Will I ever play this course again? Only if a member pays my green fee.
