Rhuddlan Golf Club

About
Rhuddland Golf Club was established in 1930 within the grounds of Bodrhyddan Estate, home of Lord Langford the Club President. In 1938 it became affiliated to the Welsh Golfing Union. The original layout has been dramatically modified by Hawtree & Co over the years and is now a very popular championship course. A popular venue for visitors, Rhuddland has also played host to National, Regional and County events.
Gently undulating parkland course with splendid views of the Clwydian Hills and the Vale of Clwyd with Snowdonia beyond. The original course built on farmland on the Bodrhyddan Estate dates from 1930. Hawtree & Co. modified in the course in 1962 and again in 1985.
The course was extended and developed into that challenging and attractive course we now enjoy. Hawtree used the natural topography cleverly, creating five completely new holes, 8 to 12, on the new land. Six other new holes were created by extending, moving and introducing space within a previously cramped layout. Over 5,000 trees were planted; many of the copses now supplementing the older parkland trees as well established features of the course.

Beautiful Course
Great course, not too hilly but stunning views and the fairways and greens immaculate. Really enjoyable and will definitely be back
A challenging course
To start the friendly staff in the clubhouse fed us with good wholesome food. The course looked good even though it had been a very wet week. Starts with two par 5s and just keeps challenging you for the full round. Course would appear to drain well as we saw little wet ground. Would definitely play Rhuddlan again.
Very nice course
Staff great course stunning just didn’t finish due to slow play ,some sort of annal competition so only got 15 holes in and started at 12.28 some members walked off .Apart from that great day
The course was nice for time of year
The course was in excellent condition members very friendly,There was an annual competition on so play was very slow some members walked off.The staff were very nice started play at 12.28 but only got 13 holes in due to loss of light with slow play
A very pretty parkland course
An enjoyable round of golf in lovely weather, played without hindrance from any slow play ahead. Greens in good shape. A little wet and muddy in places on the fairways (to be expected this time of year) and a few bunkers waterlogged (also can’t be helped following the rain). Booked through Golf Now but nobody in the pro shop to check in with at the start ( or end) so we just got in with it!
Great course
Course in great condition and staff were very welcoming
Great course all round
Challenging in places, really we kept greens. Would highly recommend. Could spend hours on the practice putting green
Picturesque and friendly
Really enjoyed our first round here. Course lovely. Greens v good but tee boxes need some attention. V friendly members and pro. Would recommend and hope to play again. Sat Nav on trollies was good
Great round of golf
Not played here in many years, but on a bright Sunny afternoon it was a pleasure at a hot tee price of £13. Complete bargain. Highly recommended.
Post storm Francis round
This is a really good, course. Quite challenging for high handicappers like me . Unfortunately the storm which hit the day before our round left the course rather soggy in places and gad converted most bunkers into lakes. Have played it in better condition and would thoroughly recommend.. Good pro shop too.
Great set up
Wonderful course, excellently maintained and some picturesque holes all around.
Only gripe I would have is that there are no obvious directions between holes or course map on the scorecard, for people playing it the first time it leads to quite a bit of standing off the last green wondering where to go next.
Nice layout
We played this course for the first time after wanting to play for a while, course has a good layout with some interesting holes, positioning off the tee is needed if your to go at the green with your second. Course was in very good condition, just a couple of tee boxes needed cutting as it was like teeing off in the semi rough, found quite a bit of rubbish on the course with bins not being in use which was a shame. But would definitely play there again.
Course was pretty wet however the green were in excellent condition
Second time I have played this course. It has been very wet leading up to today. But the course was outstanding. Considering the conditions. We also ate in the club house. Excellent again.we can’t wait to experience Rhuddlan again
Great course
Friendly staff, great food and the course was in excellent condition. I will definitely play this course again.
Holiday golf visit
Course was in extremely good nick. Greens were tremendous and true, a real pleasure. Pro shop extremely helpful in letting me know when best time to go out was to avoid delay (especially as a one ball) - I will definately be back !!
