What are the top public golf courses and hiddem gems in Wales?
It depends who you ask. In the case of GolfPass' annual Golfers Choice ranking lists, you are the expert, along with thousands of your fellow golfers.
We compile our annual Golfers' Choice lists by analyzing the ratings and reviews submitted by members of our community - golfers like you - throughout the previous year. We use GolfPass' Ratings Index logic that weights newer reviews and combine it with a course's subcategory averages. Courses must offer public access and have received at least two reviews in 2023 to be eligible for this year's list. If you want to play any of these courses, hover your browser over the course photo and if tee times are available, you can click to book directly.

Cardigan Golf Club
Semi-PrivateGreen fee: £20
What they're saying: "Really lovely links course with views of the sea from every hole and tee. We were lucky with the weather it was dry but overcast. Got a good deal on Golfnow. It was not that busy. Easy to find your way around and some very interesting holes." - u314160607843 -
St. Deiniol Golf Club
PrivateGreen fee: £20-£25
What they're saying: "The road up to the course is mighty steep, which is usually a good sign for a hill top lover and this course does not disappoint. Cracking views of mountains and sea. A fantastic James Braid hilltop layout with some highly imaginative holes. This is quite an arduous walk but the rewards are well worth it." - Dalio2680 -
Denbigh Golf Club
PublicGreen fee: £16-£25
What they're saying: "I took my Dad out for his first proper game of golf, he is completely new and the course although for him was pretty challenging, he throughly enjoyed his time. Working his way around the course. Thankfully we tee'd of pretty late and didn't really have many people behind us to disturb." - SpiritualOne -
Woodlake Park Golf and Country Club

What they're saying: "Booked a last minute deal here and was very impressed. Got a great welcome from the golf shop, and was given lots of useful information. Although some temporary greens we were given the distances to the temporary pins which was very useful. The course itself was a bit hilly but nothing to worry about." - TesterG -
Glynhir Golf Club
Semi-PrivateWhat they're saying: "Enjoyed playing Glynhir. Giving that we were in winter the course was quite soft in parts, however the greens played good and it didn’t affect our round. Will look to play again in the warmer conditions." - u7324974

Peterstone Lakes Golf Club
PublicGreen fee: £24-£33
What they're saying: "I unfortunately chose a day where there was a weather warning for rain and wind, so was a little challenging on the course but at least I was the only one on the course. I actually loved it though, if I lived closer I would join this club in a heartbeat!" - Benj44
