Lovely little course. Had a few hours to kill and this was the first course near me to pop up. Lovely welcome at reception, with a quick run through of the course. Facilities looked great but didn't get a chance to use them. Met two people (maybe members) on the way to the first who were so friendly and nice. The course itself plays nice, fairly forgiving in my opinion which was great for me. Would love a few more hazards, but still a lot of fun. The 16th and 17th were a good challenge for me as a beginner! Loved it, would definitely come back again.
What a course
Wasnt expecting the course to be in such a good way with all the rain but is was spot on.. a phew spots of soft ground but other wise it was great..the greens were very challenging and in perfect knick I would definitely recommend this course to any golfer....
Hidden Gem
Lovely course, probably gets overshadowed by Wrexham Golf Club. Testing holes, good variety of shots needed and in really good condition. Good value for money, recommend highly. Only downside are the bar/food for after are lacking a bit.
16 holes of bog and disappointment
Played today, 3 holes were closed, the fairway were woeful, the layout is boring, with every bunker GUR.
Club house closed.
Decent range and pro shop however
Awful Course, Overpriced
Awful course condition, greens weren’t cut, fairways weren’t cut, sludge fest. Staff gave no info about the course and failed to tell us that 3 holes were closed but still charged us a stupidly high fee of £30 anyway. Bar was closed. Course design was boring, not one stand out hole in terms of design or just to look at.
Not too bad
We played in late January after a bout of bad weather so I was pleasantly surprised that the course had held up.
There were some very wet greens but bar that it was in good nick. Nice little course with some interesting holes. Would recommend.
good golf day
Good course joined by 2 younger lads who were good company, good course, really enjoyed the round-- will return soon.
Clays Golf Course
We booked a hot deal and on arrival we’re told we were paired up with another 2 to make a 4 ball
Unfortunately the other 2 lads were basically beginners 1 had played for 12 months the other was having his 2nd game ever !! So to say it was a long afternoon would be an understatement!! I’ve no objection to being paired with other people but it totally ruined our afternoon. Pre Covid-19 we played here quite frequently and paid no more than £15 now it’s 25 but all courses are now trying to rake in losses from the last 2 years I’m sure if they charge reasonable money they would get more visitors this is one of the cheapest options out there now and good value at £20 but not worth any more than that .
Staff friendly and nice clubhouse for a pint and something to eat which was reasonable price and good food
Good days golf
We were unfortunate enough to play when greens were heavily sanded after hollow tining .! Easy walking with some enjoyable holes. Well bunkered greens make up for slightly shorter holes providing a real test.. Had a good time.
Clays
Very nice course well looked after, club house and pro shop is excellent as well.
All the staff and other members where very friendly and accommodating.
Will definitely be playing this regularly.
