Dunedin Golf Club
About
Dunedin Golf Club was carved out of citrus groves and was the PGA National Golf Course until 1962. The golf course itself is delightful. From elevation changes to a river that bisects the course, you can just feel the aura of the great golfers who have played here. Bobby Jones, Gene Saraze, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Byron Nelson, Paul Runyan to name a few have participated in tournaments here. Dunedin Country Club is located in Dunedin, minutes from the beaches, many restaurants and several top hotel options. Dunedin Golf Club is a Donald Ross creation.

Slooooooow play
Fairways and tee boxes need a lot of work. Greens are okay but bumpy. I'm 50 years old and I was the youngest person out there. Quit after 13 holes hit the 4-Hour mark. Brutally slow.
Dunedin Golf Club
Challenging and you need to think your way around this course. The back 9 is in much better shape than the front.
Enjoyable Round
Both the pro shop employee and the starter were very friendly and informative. I had a 7:30 a.m. tee time and was paired with another golfer in town on vacation. The pace of play was excellent … we finished the round in just over 3 hours.
Donald Ross Course 1920's
Fun course. Some tough holes. Greens had just been over sanded/seeded but we're still plenty speedy with very true rolls. Donald Ross elevated greens with false fronts so add a bit of distance to approaches. Bunker sand was consistent, I was there quite a bit! Nice roofed patio area for a lunch/dinner/ drink. Town is about to spend a lot of money on Reno's, can't wait for 2024 to see it!! Will be back several times soon!
I was late 30mins , couldn’t play
The man at the desk told me “I’m late. . I can’t let u out “ call the golf now
Amazing course
Was in town visiting from NY and played a few local courses. This was hands down the best maintained course and best value for the money. I will gladly come back and play again anytime I’m in town
Nice course—rude staff
Club loader was short tempered and not welcoming. The Marshall kept having problems with counting receipts. “Still need one more.” Had to show him 3 times since we had 5 players. Split up into a 2 some and 3 some as they wouldn’t all 5 of us play together, although a 5 some was walking off the green right next to us…. “They are members”.
Cart service and food at the turn were excellent! The ladies made up for the grumpy old men. Greens are elevated and in good shape and the fairways were well established. Loved the cart monitor and ability to get an aerial view of the hole
Course was in great shape, especially considering all of the rain we've had recently. Pace was great, course was pretty wide open in the afternoon (3 hrs 15 min or so for 18). With the HotDeal it was definitely worth a 40 min drive. Will be playing here again soon.
Surprise
I knew it was a donald ross design, but i was. Not specting it, too be in such a great shspe.
This course is not crazy long, but that is not the point.
You keep it in the fairways then you just deal with the elevated greens, yes elevated, it was awesome.!
Cant wait to play it again..
Ps. I rarely give 5 starts
Great course
Tee box to green, course is in great shape. Fun layout and lots of history to the course
Great improvement.
Played about 3 months ago and greens were in below average shape then. Great layout and close to home so I always like playing here. And greens came back in great shape. Staff friendly as always.
Well Worth The Cost
First off, important to know there has been over 20’ of rain over last 4 weeks. Despite that, course was highly playable. I enjoyed the experience. I’m a Ross fan so try to play them all. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Old bones evident but appears time and budget have eroded quality. Don’t expect pristine conditions but well worth the greens fees. Greens themselves were in good shape. Ball rolling very well. Not sure I’d pay the $80-100 high season rates but a great deal now!
Wet
Fairways were full of more mud than usual with no extensive rain to justify the wet conditions. But as always, great course
