Dunedin Golf Club
About
Dunedin Golf Club was carved out of citrus groves and was the PGA National Golf Course until 1962. The golf course itself is delightful. From elevation changes to a river that bisects the course, you can just feel the aura of the great golfers who have played here. Bobby Jones, Gene Saraze, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Byron Nelson, Paul Runyan to name a few have participated in tournaments here. Dunedin Country Club is located in Dunedin, minutes from the beaches, many restaurants and several top hotel options. Dunedin Golf Club is a Donald Ross creation.

Gem in Dunedin
First time playing the course and found it to be a great challenge. Carts were top notch with GPS. Due to excessive rain, tee boxes were a little scruffy, but overall the course is in great shape. Greens were quick and held well. Bunkers in great shape. Will definitely come back. Did not visit clubhouse at all.
Beautiful Club
Challenging greens. Great layout. Well maintained. New favorite course
Good conditions except some sanded greens.
Course was in good shape. Most Greens were partially sanded and right where pin was positioned, which was annoying. Besides that all was good.
Good track - not the best conditions
Played the course this morning, and had mixed reviews of it. I'm very aware that some repairs and renovations of the course are currently going on right now, and was told this before I teed off.
Tee boxes and fairways (for the most part) were in great shape. The green were aerated and covered in sand, so we took the "2-putt max" rule to keep things moving along. Great news - no 3-putts...but any putt over 5 feet is going be an adventure to make.
Course layout is tough, but fair - many holes have wide fairways, and a few holes a player can spray it around a bit and be okay. Like most Ross courses, you can't run the ball up to the hole, and the bunkers are very penal - expect to his at least 1 "buried" bunker shot.
Overall, the pace of play was outstanding (finished 18 holes in 3 hours), the staff was very friendly - I'd be happy to play this course again, especially once the renovations and changes to the course are completed in 2024.
Dunedin golf course
This is a great course to play. Lots of par fours and fives. The 16 hole was quite challenging. Overall the courses in great shape and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely play it again
Pleasantly surprised
Got this on a hot deal for $30, so did not have the biggest expectations. Really enjoyed the layout of the course with the small greens. In pretty strong condition, couple of wet patches with the rain, but that is normal. Some good elevation changes for this part of Florida. My group of three was stuck behind a slower group of four, but still managed to keep the round under 4.5 hours, so not the end of the world.
Dunedin is a great course at good value
I’ve played Dunedin several times now and like it a bit more each time. Like any Florida course it can get soggy in places with a good amount of rain, but it that’s going to happen. The layout and greens are great and it has a different feel than most courses in the Tampa area. I love playing here and highly recommend for a fun round
Dunedin GC
This is a great layout very fair test of golf plus the history makes it really cool. Played on a Thursday starter was nice and le me go out early. Pace of play was great until the back-nine because they started us on the front. The greens were nice even some sand on them still. Green grass for the most part in the fairways. There was even a drink lady coming around which is super rare these days! Hot weather but its Florida in the summer. I would go back and recommend this to you also!
Nice course… I would play it again!
The course was in good shape! A lot of different challenges from water, to bunkers, etc. The greens were slick which made judging putts a challenge! The staff were very attentive and kept the pace of play moving suggesting to other players who were slower to allow faster groups to play thru! Excellent location if you are staying in Dunedin, FL. Check it out if you are in the area!
Exceptional
Greens absolutely perfect and fast. Fairways and bunkers were great along with the teeboxes. Bring your short game. Layout is old school with small greens and many doglegs but the course is fairly forgiving. Keep up the great work.
Historic Site, built by Donald Ross in beautiful Dunedin FL
Fairways are coming around after being treated. Weather was very hot but guys from the club house were coming around with ice cold water for $1 which was really nice. Random guy in my group missed a hole in one on #6 "Sharks Mouth" 145 yd Par 3, by literal inches. Greens were lighting fast which everyone in the group loved.
Pace of play was amazing as it's the slow season.
The long par 3 on the back nine is challenging.
Would recommend!
Donal Ross design
Fairways and greens are in great shape, beat I've seen in a while now. Tee boxes are needing some love but, they're working on them now.
