Dunedin Golf Club
About
Dunedin Golf Club was carved out of citrus groves and was the PGA National Golf Course until 1962. The golf course itself is delightful. From elevation changes to a river that bisects the course, you can just feel the aura of the great golfers who have played here. Bobby Jones, Gene Saraze, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Byron Nelson, Paul Runyan to name a few have participated in tournaments here. Dunedin Country Club is located in Dunedin, minutes from the beaches, many restaurants and several top hotel options. Dunedin Golf Club is a Donald Ross creation.

soso
Very slow pace for the first nine got better when we passed the foursome in front of us. Greens in poor condition , same for the fairways..
No kitchen open due to lack of employees.
.......
Impressive course in a great town!
Really enjoyed this course! Greens and fairways were in great condition. Staff was helpful and welcoming. We were met in the parking lot near our car by a gentleman driving a golf cart that he left for us. Classy! Felt like I was in a nature preserve at times with all the beautiful birds and different trees. Can’t wait to come back!
Slow Due to Leagues
Made us play behind league 4-somes that took a half hour each hole to putt out. DO not play o Thursday Afternoons. Cal n advance to find out if there are leagues. Slowest players known to mankind!! Left after 14 holes...
Go to check-in and and both employees had their heads buried in their computer. After 30 seconds standing in front of them, I get, "what do ya need"? No smile, no 'welcome to Dunedin '... Sorry to bother you as a paying customer!!
Layout of course was challenging, but fun! Greens absolutely SUCKED!! Looked as if they aerated the greens 8 weeks ago and you have to put over these lines... Jeez! Fairways were just ok - with a 50% chance of landing on grass!
Great layout
This course guards the pin with tree lined fairways, we’ll placed bunkers and raised greens. A very familiar trait shown by Donald Ross famed course architect. Since 1927 many before me have struggled the pin point accuracy that these raised greens demand. Fairways and greens in pristine condition. Often it was like hitting off of carpet.
My contact with was limited ( pro shop staff & Starter) ) but both were the same just the facts, no smile or extra words both seemed to be “Grouchy”.
But do not let them stop you from experiencing this hidden coastal gem in the heart of this coastal georgous town of Dunedin.
A bit sparse
Some of the fairways were beyond tight. Overall, not bad though
Little bumpy
Greens appear to have at least two kinds of grass making the bumpy. Pace of play was ok, could have been much better if the twosome in front of us would have let us play thru. Always difficult when a three has to wait for a two and never saw a marshal. Older course with not a great deal of character but a decent track. Clubhouse is dated but nice patio. Vote for Yuengling as a tap option!!!
Great Day of Golf
This course is in very good shape. Best carts with Fantastic GPS showing great detail including distances to turns and hazards. The greens were acceptably fast and in great shape. Tee boxes like most in Florida look bad but don’t impact playability. Fairways in great shape also, the rough was cut low enough to find balls easily. Water comes into play on back 9, but it is not too hard to keep ball dry. overall this course was and excellent value for my twosome
First time at this course
My husband and I spent a few hours on Mother’s Day playing our favorite sport together . We recently moved down to Dunedin and have heard many great stories about this famous course’s history and found a great golf pass rate to play. We enjoyed our time and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. We both hope to see this course shine again in its glory one day soon. First 9 were in better shape than the back but equally challenging. We will be back soon . The restaurant was busy for the holiday but they accommodated us outside with drinks and lunch. Thank you for a great afternoon!
Fun golf course
Great course with fun greens and tons of wildlife.
