Dunedin Golf Club
About
Dunedin Golf Club was carved out of citrus groves and was the PGA National Golf Course until 1962. The golf course itself is delightful. From elevation changes to a river that bisects the course, you can just feel the aura of the great golfers who have played here. Bobby Jones, Gene Saraze, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Byron Nelson, Paul Runyan to name a few have participated in tournaments here. Dunedin Country Club is located in Dunedin, minutes from the beaches, many restaurants and several top hotel options. Dunedin Golf Club is a Donald Ross creation.

Approach to #9 green Photo submitted by ShragMagtite on 01/05/2016
The fairways were not in good shape you had to move your ball to find grass to hit from.
Some of the greens on the back side were in bad shape.
But most of them were good, With the elevated greens and heavy fringe leading up to them it was difficult to roll up on the greeen and if you did land on the green it was difficult to stay
Decent track !
Love layout reminds me of home courses in Ohio by Ross
Love the history of the course
My friend and I really enjoyed our game of golf, despite it being a breezy day. Course is overall is good shape, especially the fairways. Several greens had significant damage on them, hopefully they'll recover them. Pro Shop staff was a bit snarky and condescending, but we didn't let that affect our enjoyment of the course. Great value as we got a Hot Deal rate through GolfNow...not sure the course is worth the full regular rate unless the greens were in better condition.
Great staff
Lovely course desperately in need of water or ???
Many well marked “areas under repair” Pace of play was slow, very slow…..but the beverage cart came by frequently. The staff are exceptional especially the starter. Golf shop separate from club house.
Driving range busy. Golf carte equipped with GPS.
Have played the course when it was in better condition, improvements seem to be on the way.
Not as good as I remember
It’s been probably 10 years since I’ve played on the course and it has gone downhill. fairways are sparse with grass and rough is worse. A decent lie in the fairway is unusual. Most of the greens were pretty good but some had a lot of damage. Overall I really like to lay out and I hope they’re able to bring this course back to the quality that it used to be. I will play again if that happens.
Been Better
I've played Dunedin many times over the years, I've seen it in fabulous shape and during Covid needs some work shape. Today the greens rolled nice considering the amount of play but the fairways were spotty. Needed roll the ball a few time to get off a bare spot. That being said it's a great and challenging layout, one of the best in Pinellas.
Rundown & in very poor condition
Tees, fairway & greens were all bad. Turf patches in greens, green fertilizer and dead spots throughout. One green had peeled/curled turf in the middle which I've never seen before. This was the worst course conditions I have seen in Florida in all my years of playing here. Played with a nice couple who have played here in years past and they were very disappointed as well in the current state of disrepair. It should be closed and redone.
I've never written a review like this before.
Nice day
Course needs TLC. It's in better shape than other public area courses this time of year.
Pace was five hours.
Enjoyable round at a classic course
I always enjoy this Donald Ross course. The course conditions were good and pace of play was just over 4 hours.
This has been a very nice place to play this winter and spring.
