Little higher than average prices for this type of course
The rates for this course are a little higher than similar courses in the area. Pace of play could be improved if Rangers would pay a little more attention. Good layout and conditions. Wish they could keep it in the $30 range for a round.
Beautiful course
Great course. I'd play it again in a second. Just challenging enough to be fun.
Nice Donald Ross track
First time playing and I was pleased. Nothing terribly difficult, except for typical Ross greens. I would play again and recommend.
Philip Dalimonte
A hidden gem though course conditions were a little rough due to heavy rain the previous game.
The Rangers were cool, kept the pace nicely without being rude.
Highly recommended.
Old course in need
I played Dunedin because it was a Donald Ross design from 100 years ago. I don't think that anything has been done to keep its beauty. The fairways are worn and dusty and the greens need help and resurfacing. I got to play 13 holes before the rains came and normally I would be disappointed I could not finish but I wasn't as I felt sorry for Donald as they have not respected his design by keeping it up. The course was filled with players, so I guess they are just milking the course until it completely falls apart.
Course well groomed.
The weather was cold and windy. Would have been more enjoyable in warmer weather. The fairway were cut very tight, made it difficult to hit irons. Greens were in great shape considering it's the winter season.
Solid layout with good greens
This is a traditional parkland type course. Conditions were quite good considering the moderate price. A couple of holes on back nine were very wet and I understand this is common. The greens were very good and larger than on some Donald Ross courses I have played. There are fewer houses and less water than on many Florida courses. I will play there again.
Too slow
I have to admit my opinion is biased by pace of play issues. We booked a 2 pm tee time and knew it would be tight to get in 18 holes by 6 pm sunset. Due to the backup our 2 pm was closer to 2:30. For the front nine as we came to the tee box there would have be a 4 waiting To tee off, a group in the fairway and another group on the green. Never hit 2 shots in a row without an extended wait. The ranger kept on reassuring us it would loosen up, it never did. When we made the turn at 5:30 there were two groups of 4 waiting to tee off, a group in the fairway, and a group just getting on the green, we gave up, paid for 18 only got 9. Can't enjoy a course when you have to sit for 5 minutes before every shot.
Excellent historic course/Excellent value
Challenging for a 15 handicap. Elevated greens and long from the whites. Traps were in great shape, but unfortunately players were not fixing ball marks, so greens were a little rough. Not the clubs fault. Loved the water on the back nine. Couple from Cleveland and gentleman from Toronto fun to play with. This will be my home club while spending winter in Dunedin. Nice course, nice staff, a very nice day of golf..
Terrain pas vraiment beau
Terrain pas bien drainé manque beaucoup de gazons par endroit surtout en dehors des allés
This course has great and somewhat difficult greens.
Pretty long for women on most holes. I like that and I like that I shot a 44 on the back nine, giving me a 95 for the round. The course is always in good shape. Yesterday it was quite busy around our one o'clock tee time and that is always good for the club. We were paired with a nice couple from Tennessee. Love the history of Dunedin Golf Club and I am always excited to have a chance o play there.
Enjoyed it!
Nice course and woth the time and money spent. Greens were in better condition than most in the area.
Interesting and fun course. Will play it again.
better courses around
I played here about 4 years ago and couldn't remember why I hadn't been back !!! Now I know why ! the corses was scaby and the greens poor
The sign says champion course its not ! you can find better cheaper try cresent oaks wentworth seven springs fox hollow ! all great courses
Donald Ross Style Greens/Bunkers
Overall good challenging course. Played with local members which helped avoid some hazards. Wet in some areas, but expected after evening rain. Greens and bunkers in very good shape and well maintained. Played on a Friday and pace was slow (4.5 hours). Fairly open course with few home in line of fire. $5 for a Hot Dog is a little steep in price.
Over Booked
Started round 1/2 hour late, could not finish because of darkness. People in my group were given a rain check for nine holes, because I booked mine on golfnow I could not be given a rain check.
Dunedin GC
Course in good shape, slight roll in fairways and in chipping areas to get a decent lie is required. Greens very nice, slight airation scars still visible but not afftecting play. Good course with some tough holes.
Nice Greens and Nice Layout
Fairways are a bit thin, some holes on the back nine a bit damp. The best part of the course is the greens and traps,
excellent greens
From the time I checked in, made the turn, and was in and reeady for the 19th hole it was an awesome experience. Excellent golf course, well maintained and some of the best greens I ever played. Staff was above par. I do hope I get to play again here prior to leaving in Mid Jan.
Nice old Ross design
I learned one thing that I will never do on this course again, and that is to play later in the day on the weekend. The course was packed full of beginners with no golf knowledge or etiquette.
It was a nightmare of slow play and I only finished 14 holes in 5 hours before I ran out of light.
That aside it was a neat old design and I will definitely go play again earlier in the day when the members are out playing at a good pace....def give it a try!!
This course is equal to the finest country clubs
The only problem here is that often times they have a cart path only restriction even when the fairways appear dry. This really slows the play
