For this kind of money…
Great course(s) with a few aggravating holes. Probably the priciest around save Pound Ridge. I’d expect at least one decent toilet facility somewhere on the course when paying a premium. Best they offer is a single porta-potty at the 3 course crossroads. Gross. Some will suggest a quick ride to the clubhouse… but that leads to issue #2:: The Turn. With 3 nines each turn is a course change. Yesterday’s round (and this isn’t the first this has occurred) we had a great pace only to come up on our new course and encounter 3 groups: the 4 that had been in front of us, a new foursome that had just started, and another foursome making the turn from another course. All bets off on getting done at a decent hour. Fortunately a ride back to the starter was greeted sympathetically and we went off on another course that put us back on pace. However, that wasn’t my desired course that day.
Love the place, but at these prices these issues need attention.
Challenging but fun course
Played Lakes and Meadows. Challenging course with water, elevation, fast greens and tough pin placement. Better bring your A-game to fully enjoy this course!
Fees are higher and you get less
Booked thru Golf now and practice balls not included - $12 for 35 balls
When the course is demanding $150 a round - expect some investments
Cart paths are in disrepair
Ant nests in several greens
Bare spots and weeds in fairways on many holes on lake nine
Greens were fast and good but 11 lakes green is too severe..
Touched a putt from top of green.. finished 20 yards off front of green
I am single digits player
Par 3 tees full of divots which i filled with a bucket on tee (nice touch)
Blame players but tees are not moved around enough
Blue tee on Lakes 14 never seen it on actual card yardage in 10 years
Practice facilities are generally better than most courses
Still this is expensive game of golf given distance from NYC
Not great not bad
Tight course. For keeping you off the fairways not the greatest conditions. Hilly and demanding not a bad course.
Great course as soon as I walked onto the property I could tell it was special. The range area was the best I’ve been on they had a large grass area that was able to accommodate up to 50 players. I happened to play the lakes course and fairways course. The lakes course was phenomenal the layout was fantastic with great views on multiple holes. The fairways course was great also but it didn’t offer anything special to me like the lakes course did, it almost felt like any other municipal course in the area. That being said I had a great time at centennial golf club and I can’t wait to come back and play the meadows course.
,Lakes was exciting and great.
Meadows did not allow carts on most fairways so this was very bad.
Meadows cart path only
Enjoyed Lake course its elevations and general condition.
meadows was a big disappointment, fairways were not accessible to carts and made playing impossible for less energetic player. Had to pass up on a number of holes.
Course conditions
The fairways were not in great condition. Plenty of bare spots and it didn’t look like any work was being done to repair them,
Greens are in great shape this year. Nice and fast.
Needs lots of work
Our round cost $121 for 18 and a cart. There are 3, nine hole courses here. We played the Meadows and Fairways. The Meadows layout was full of elevation changes with some of the best tee box views in the northeast.
However, the course condition was poor. I know it was a rough summer, but due to the DROUGHT the course was cart path only. First time I have ever played a course that was cart path only for something other than rain or drenched fairways. Seemed odd. This is a brutally difficult course to be cartpath only. However probably half the holes on the Meadows are permanently cartpath only due to the drastic elevation changes of the holes. The fairways were almost as thick as a first cut of rough, and the bunkers were a disaster, they didn't look like they have been raked by a crew in months. The tee boxes were the biggest mess. Again I don't think the tee positions have moved in months considering how damaged they were. Positive: The greens were very good. They were in good shape, speed was good and they ran true. The Meadows course currently also has one of their nicest Par fours changed to a par 3 as they have re-seeded the entire fairway. So it plays as a 160 yard par 3. The 3rd par three on that nine. Positives are the location, the course was built on a beautiful property, but feels like they squeezed in too many holes and many are tricked out. You will lose a ton of golf balls unless you are a 5 or better handicap. Wish they used the property to build 18 amazing holes vs squeezing in 27.
Barren wasteland
Played here many times before and loved it. Booked through tee off this time no mention of cartpath only due to severe drought conditions still charge full price of $95 not worth half of that. I like this course but at $95 around and one of the nine hole course is they have their named lakes you would think they could either irrigate or reduce the price. Played the next day at a Muni course in Trumbull it was plush for $50 you tell me
