About
Willow Creek Golf & Country Club in Mount Sinai sits on Suffolk's scenic north shore. Opened in 2005, it is one of Long Island's newest golf courses but it has already established a reputation for being one of the area's most visually impressive. What makes the course stand out is the abundance of both sand and water. The number of bunkers on the golf course comes close to the triple digits and water appears on 12 holes. The lightning fast, wildly undulating greens are a challenging complement to the hazards. The layout presents a formidable test for even the best players. One of Hamlet Willow Creek's most difficult holes is the monstrous ninth, which features water on both sides of the seemingly endless fairway. With so much water, golfers almost forget about the three large bunkers that are also treacherously lurking on this hole.

Willow Creek: Good Experience But Need to Address Issues
I play this course often and highly recommend it to all golfers. Pace is fast, course is challenging and the staff excellent. That’s the good. What Willow needs to focus on is getting the rocks out of the sand traps which can ruin clubs, fill the fairway divots which are too numerous to mention and control the goose population (legally) so goose droppings aren’t everywhere. Green fees are pricey but it’s a great course to play.

Beautiful Course
Willow is probably the most visually appealing public course on the island. It is also a tough test of most of the clubs in your bag. The only negatives are that it gets too soggy after rain, not really a walking course, and it’s too expensive during peak season. The greens are almost healed from aeration and the rest of the course is in great shape (that’s what you’re paying for!). One of my favorite courses.

Super Spring day 80 degrees.
Weather was Excellent. CourseE was in good shape. Grass still needs to grow in. Still dimples on the greens from the aeration that did affect the putting.
Play was fast. It was an enjoyable round.

Spring Golf
Course is not ready. Holds the water well. Greens are bumpy & sandy…. Wait 3 weeks… Pace of play was slow, No ranger & had a 4some in front of me with 4 carts. 1 for each player. Had to walk off course…!

Solid course
Beginning of season so i hope that is the excuse for the Tee boxes. All covered in divits. For the amount one pays to play there those types of problems shouldn’t exist. Aerated greens on Masters weekend prob not the wisest choice. Hopefully courses shape will getter better as the season comes and weather gets nicer

Best of the public courses
Willow Creek remains the best of the LI public courses because of its terrific layout and demand for target golf. Greens are undulating but run true and quick. Only complaint is too many rocks in the sand traps. Someone needs to go into traps with a rake or shovel and remove them.

always a good time at this place. shot placement is key to scoring well, especially on the back 9. greens run true. will demerits be back..
