About
Willow Creek Golf & Country Club in Mount Sinai sits on Suffolk's scenic north shore. Opened in 2005, it is one of Long Island's newest golf courses but it has already established a reputation for being one of the area's most visually impressive. What makes the course stand out is the abundance of both sand and water. The number of bunkers on the golf course comes close to the triple digits and water appears on 12 holes. The lightning fast, wildly undulating greens are a challenging complement to the hazards. The layout presents a formidable test for even the best players. One of Hamlet Willow Creek's most difficult holes is the monstrous ninth, which features water on both sides of the seemingly endless fairway. With so much water, golfers almost forget about the three large bunkers that are also treacherously lurking on this hole.

Pace of play
The course is in good shape and quite challenging but the pace of play was ridiculous. We had a 2:30 tee time and only got in 13 holes in 3 1/2 hours. They still charged $75 for that late in the day. $75 for 13 holes...not going back.

Great course, but more golfer care needed
Course was a in great condition, considering the heavy rain the previous day. However, golfer etiquette was a problem: numerous ball marks unrepaired on all greens, huge divots not replaced, golfers driving carts on bunker faces and close to greens. This needs to be better managed to save this fine course. Perhaps the starter should give full instructions on the first tee and the ranger should enforce them?

Expect a 5 hour round
Course is great. Just the players are slow. Did see a ranger this time though who made an effort to speed things up. Not sure it worked.

Beautiful course
This is a beautiful course with lots of water and sand traps so very challenging but perfect for me even though I’m a relatively infrequent player but can hit the ball straight. Friendly staff too!

A Day at the Beach.
Sand and water, water and sand and sand and water. I thought I was at Jones Beach. Unique course and lots of trouble which can be very challenging .The layout is nice with lots of variety in holes. There wasn't any contact with the staff at all and since it was prepaid my group just grabbed carts and went to the first tee and started playing. That was unusual. Overall a nice experience. Bring extra balls.

Always in great shape
Greens were extremely fast but well kept ,some pin placements were very tough, almost unfair, But maybe I'm just saying that because I didn't play well. $100 plus for a round of golf is just too rich for my blood, but I guess that's why it's in such good shape.

Not the first time I’ve played here. Course layout and green complexes are very demanding. You must know where to place the ball in the fairway and know exactly where the pins are to score well here. Any putt over 30 feet seems like a guaranteed 3 putt because of the speeds and breaks you have to play. The course was not in its best shape as I usually see it. The greens were a bit chewed up, and with it being a shorter course the fairways were a mine field of divots that seem like they were filled that morning with sand. So some fairways seemed like sandboxes. This was a little frustrating after hitting good well placed tee shots an now I was hitting in sand/seed. But value wise $66 was a home run

Excellent shape
Aeration was scrapped about a month ago. Greens cut and fast! Best greens on a public course now. Pricey but worth it. Especially with everyone else just aerating recently. Rest of course is also in great shape
