About
Willow Creek Golf & Country Club in Mount Sinai sits on Suffolk's scenic north shore. Opened in 2005, it is one of Long Island's newest golf courses but it has already established a reputation for being one of the area's most visually impressive. What makes the course stand out is the abundance of both sand and water. The number of bunkers on the golf course comes close to the triple digits and water appears on 12 holes. The lightning fast, wildly undulating greens are a challenging complement to the hazards. The layout presents a formidable test for even the best players. One of Hamlet Willow Creek's most difficult holes is the monstrous ninth, which features water on both sides of the seemingly endless fairway. With so much water, golfers almost forget about the three large bunkers that are also treacherously lurking on this hole.

Good course need to be back
I haven’t played for few years this course since covid. Happy to be back this course, really enjoyed

Nice layout of course..Lots of sand practice for you.
The course is in excellent shape. The greens are running fast. We enjoyed our round, alittle over 4 hrs.
Well most of us, one guy was in the sand almost every hole. Lol
Not sure I’ll go back
The course was full and no rangers to move play. The foursome in front of us were slow. We were on the 9th green and my partner said to the group on 10 to pick it up. Now, they were on the tee and talking while the group in front of then were 409 yards away. They then started the F bombs toward our group and told my partner they’d kick his a**. I called the pro shop to report this and ask that they send a ranger out. They said they would but never did. When we got to the 10th hole and hit our tee shots, this group was on the green and when they finished, they took the flag out of the hole and just laid it down. I understand you can have knuckle heads on the course, but when the pro shop did not respond I was done with them.
Beautiful Views
Good , Greens too fast. Must have better pin placements! Too many downhill puts. ALMOST impossible.
Aeration
More than half the fairways were scratch-line aerated, making play a bit difficult. So the normally excellent conditions were not so great. Also found that some traps had a lot of pebbles. Finally, greens were sprinkled with a light sand layer, affecting putts at times, though the greens seemed to roll very well. We understand this is all necessary to keep the course in good shape, but it was just a bit disappointing not knowing this in advance. Will definitely be back.
