Very difficult first time, but will be back

Extremely tricky course its your first time. As mentioned in previous reviews, a lot of blind greens/ flags so course knowledge is essential. For your first round, I'd recommend downloading the Hole19 app which has a map of each hole. Very hilly course with beautiful views and course in good condition. A nice challenge and a course that's a bit different. Would recommend and will be back.

Challenging but I'll be going back

You've got to be driving straight off the tee to give yourself a chance on this course. I wasn't and had to hit a 4 iron, which left me with long irons in. So the course is challenging in that respect.

Some lovely holes but, equally, one or two where without course knowledge you haven't a chance. I'm thinking here of the 4th, 5th, 6th (go short and/or right approaching that green! Everything on the green rolls off left and is GONE) and 15th (what a roll to the left on that fairway; you've got to aim for the right and hope you land short of the trouble that's there).

Lovely holes (imo) include an inviting 1st & 2nd, the 8th, 12th, 14th & 18th. The ones I mentioned above that are tricky are also appealing for the challenge they offer.

My only real 'complaint' is that the course is very sloping on so many of the fairways, but then again you are up a mountain! Also, if there's any wind, it's v challenging unless you're a v competent player.

Lastly, if you're not a fan of blind holes, you might feel a bit frustrated at times. I won't list all the blind holes here, but there's a good few times where it's hard to be sure where to be aiming your second shot (until you've played the course once or twice).

Beautiful views.

Good course for the money

Course has some good and bad features.

THE GOOD

-The course has some great holes that require good course management.

-Views are lovely particularly on the back 9.

-Very friendly staff

-Cheap to play

THE BAD

-The greens are extremely slow

-some very basic holes

-course is very hilly,I would suggest a buggy

-a lot of blind shots and dog leg holes (can be seen as good or bad)

Overall an enjoyable course to play with some challenging holes. For the price it's good

Tough Golf Course

Very tight golf course. The greens were a tiny bit long but no real complaints there. Very tight fairways with lots of trees. Would recommend it to any golfer looking for a challenge

Good value for money

This felt like a wonderful course once upon a time but is missing some TLC. Good challenge.

Don’t rent clubs. I paid €15 for what can only be described as a mix and match set of the cheapest clubs I’ve ever seen. It also included a ladies driver. Terrible to the point I had to use my playing partners clubs to get around.

Over priced

Greens are not maintained. Some fairways on the course are better than the greens. Tee boxes were a let down. Very hilly so I also would not recommend for elderly unless you rent a cart. Over priced there are better courses for half the price

Avoid

Not particularly maintained very well. Tee boxes are slanted and very poor on certain holes. The greens are very poor, impossible to get a good roll. Some of the views are spectacular and some of the holes are really great. It’s a shame that the course is not maintained well as it has a lot of potential but unfortunately not looked after to a good standard. €35 to play the course. Extortionate price for a course of this standard.

Great course poor staff

Absolutely fabulous course. Extremely challenging as set on a mountain but very well laid out. Only down fall off the whole thing was when we arrived we were refused a golf cart only for the people following us into the club house were granted a cart . The staff member proceeded to then say they had it booked which the other golfer then told me in the car park was a lie. It was blatant age discrimination as me and my fellow golfer are in out mid 20s. Other than that it's a fabulous course.

Worst course I’ve ever played

First of all 2 out of 18 holes were closed without prior notice.

Slow club members didn’t let anyone play through sometimes waiting ten minutes on the tee box.

Lastly course Lay-out is atrocious due to not being able to see any greens from most of the tee boxes and inaccurate score card.

+ no club shop with drinks snacks etc
