Powerscourt Golf Club - West Course

My wife and I played at 4:15 for 65 Euros. We played in under three hours. Course was fun and in great condition. Would play it again.

Powerscourt East is a genuinely beautiful golf course. The layout is excellent, the course conditions were very good, and the clubhouse and overall setting are impressive. It is the kind of place where you really want to enjoy the full experience.

Unfortunately, the pace of play completely ruined the day. The round was so slow that it became impossible to finish, which is extremely disappointing after looking forward to playing such a well-regarded course. It is frustrating to pay for and commit time to a round, only to feel that the course was not being properly managed from a pace-of-play perspective.

What makes it more disappointing is that the course itself has so much going for it. The design, scenery, maintenance, and clubhouse experience were all strong, but not being able to complete the round meant I left feeling more frustrated than satisfied, after having to wait consistently over 20 minutes in each tee box.

I really hope the club takes pace of play more seriously, whether through better tee-time spacing (8 minutes gap should only be allowed in the PGA tour), course marshals, or stronger management of slow groups. Powerscourt East has the potential to offer a fantastic golf experience, but on this occasion, the slow play made it impossible to properly enjoy. Not worth it.

We were going well until a thunderstorm hit the course as we were on the 13th (who says unlucky 13) and had to abandon play. It was questionable if we could return to play before we had to head home at 5.00pm.

The course is in great condition for this time of year, with no mud on the fairways. Beautiful views and a great variation in holes.

Having endured one of the wettest winters in Ireland, in which the local area was particularly badly hit, I was so impressed with the condition of the course, all the way through the 13 holes I was able to complete before it got dark.

I paid €43 but had a €25 promo code so it cost me €18 in the end which was exceptional value, particularly given what a fine evening it was.

Greens and fairways were in absolutely brilliant condition, and a huge credit to the ground staff for getting the course back into such great shape. It's a very undulating course that uses the contours of the ground well. Wide fairways but plenty of bunkers, and the greens are really tricky. I hear they're lightning in the summer, but I thought they were a fair speed when I played.

Would love to come back and complete the 18 at some point shortly in the future.

Played couple of time but pace of play is horrific, every time is about 5 hours roughly. Constantly waiting on every tee box.

I was very impressed by the condition this course was kept in, and the greens were in great shape, and very fast. I would recommend this place to anyone that asks

Great practice facilities

Gorgeous views and great layout (east course) made for a great experience. Also a good value compared to more touristy courses.

Beautiful well groomed course we loved it

Lovely customer service when I went in was looked after from the moment I arrived. As I arrived early the guy behind the desk gave me a free voucher for balls to practice which was lovely. The course was in such great condition and every hole was picturesque! Absolutely loved it especially the signature hole over the pond.
