Located in Limerick Township, Raven's Claw Golf Club is one of southeastern Pennsylvania's best golf and residential communities. It consistently ranks as one of the state's top 10. Carved from rolling hills and mature woodlands, the layout features a variety of different holes. No two holes are alike but they require some creative shot-making abilities. With tight fairways and undulating greens bordered by mounds of rough, the golf course also demands accuracy. The design incorporates links-style elements that present a formidable test. The golf course is undoubtedly challenging but there are also recovery opportunities on each hole, which makes it less daunting for beginners. One of Raven's Claw Golf Club's most memorable holes is the tricky penultimate hole. This unforgiving par-3 has a double-tiered, undulating green with no bailout areas to the left or right. Golfers that hit it short will face a blind second shot.

Course has some fun holes, but a little extra TLC would put it over the top

This is a very unique and fun course for the area. It has many different and challenging holes, and they really make you think about how you want to attack. The greens are challenging, though were somewhat shaggy and slow. I normally walk, and this course is not one that I would call "walker-friendly". The things that make it a challenging and fun course - some longer holes, changes in elevation - also make it tough to walk, very hilly, and some of the tee boxes are very far away from where the previous green was. On this occasion, however, we rode carts, and it brings me to the recommendation that you bring an extra seat cushion if you're going to ride. It was cart path only, and the cart path there is made almost entirely in the form of one long rumble strip. All this course needs is a little TLC in some areas and it would be pristine.

A good layout

Raven's Claw is a good layout. I truly enjoyed my round. The course routing is good, and it can be walked (as in my case). The course presents some challenging holes that require good golf shots, but it isn't overly penal or unfair; it's all right there in front of you. The overall course conditions (tees, fairways, bunkers, greens) were in very good condition (in early June).

My one negative mark for Raven's Claw is the practice range; because I was required to hit off of hard mats.

If I lived in the area I would definitely return to play Raven's Claw again. It provides excellent value/enjoyment for the money.

Very well maintained

If you know ravens claw is a challenge, for you that don't it's a challenge. Greens are pretty quick but birdie able. Couldn't beat the price for morning tee time. Overall great place to play ill be looking for more tee times

Slow play and no water

Played in five and1/2 hours- no ranger all day. Clubhouse allows tee play from anywhere for anyone! No cart and no water. We called the clubhouse they said they would get someone out right away, him still waiting. To add insult to the day at the end of the round we parked our carts and ran in for drinks. When we came out our bags were put on the lawn .. Nice touch??? Save your money!

Needs work

This course is a very nice course with slick but inconsistent greens but it is NOT worth the $70 they charge usually. I was fortunate to play the hot deal for $22 and that was well worth it. They do not have a club house "turn" to stop and get food and they really really need to pave the cart path. As far as layout is concerned it very nice but without these improvements I will only play on hot deals or for a steep discount.

Great course

I play a mix of private and public courses in the area, this course is always at the top of my list. The setup of the course is fantastic, but not easy, though if you get the ball in the right places it is very playable and fun. A great value and it is always in top condition.

Very slow round

Solid course and well maintained. Challenging shots throughout. There was a "computer glitch" which had tee times going off every 5 minutes and had the course pretty jammed up. Round took over 5 and a half hours. We teed off at 9:30 and were told a cart girl would be out at 10am. We didn't see her until we called the clubhouse and requested her and she met us at the 12th hole. Good course in general, but the organization lacked.

Shotmakers track

Overall enjoyable experience. Played from the blue tees at nearly 6400 yrds. Some holes very difficult while others easy due to short length. Prior course knowledge would have helped as several holes have blind shots that require strategic layups to avoid hazards. Condition, while not pristine, was above average for a public course and greens rolled at a consistent medium pace and were true. Played after a deluge (3+ inches rainfall) the night before and pace slowed somewhat due to cart path only rule. Not recommended for beginners. Will play again.

Loved it!!

Played 36 holes on 6/6/13. Got a "hot deal" for $32 and a replay rate of $25, can't beat those prices for such an outstanding course. First round (we were first out, a twosome) done in 3 hours, second round (teed off at 11:10 am) was a little longer because of slow groups in front of us, but still done in a little over 4 hours. Starter was super friendly. Course was immaculate, the only thing that stood out was some funky bounces the ball took when landing on a flat part of the fairway, but other than that a very challenging course. Able to read greens a major plus because of both major undulations and subtle breaks.

Nice course. Must play smart and hit the ball to the right spots.

This is a thinking man's course. Yes you can bomb it and take advantage of some shorter holes, but trouble awaits if you stray off the tee. Really enjoyed the track. Only negatives were that we were asked to push up the pace with a full hole open behind us. Granted we had two holes open in front but we certainly weren't holding anyone up. Also no knock on the course but to players everywhere...invest in a ball mark repair tool. They are not expensive and if you repair a mark or two (no matter where you play) it will make your next round even more enjoyable. Needless to say (but I will) the superintendent will really appreciate it!

Played on 6/6/2013, Funny thing is I said the same thing to my playing partner about how many unrepaired ball marks there were on every green. I always fix mine plus 2 or 3 more. Good observation.

Nice course, would play again.

From tee to green the course was in great shape. I consider myself a better than average putter and felt they had some tough pin locations which was a nice challenge.

The only negative on the day was the pace of play which I would guess was more of a fluke then the norm here. I played as a twosome behind two foursomes that were playing from the wrong tees for their skill levels. It would have been nice if there was a ranger who could have told these players to move up a to a more suitable tee location for their game. I expected some waiting playing as twosome but when you watch the entire group in front you tee off from the championship tees and usually not hit past the ladies tees or make the necessary carries it can be a bit frustrating.

Other than that it was nice track with some challenging holes. I would certainly play it again.
