It was a good miss - worm burner off the tee Photo submitted by sstites16 on 05/23/2020
Fun, fun, fun
Played course for the second time and so my scores were better than my first round. The course has a fair variety of holes. About half the par 4's are right in front of you and you can see the green from the tee box and the only challenges are elevation and bunkers. The other half are doglegs or blind tee shots where water or other risks such as bunkers or narrow fairways make a straight shot a must. Taking a driver off one or two of the doglegs is not advisable.
Par 3 s are quite interesting because they punish errant tee shots either with water or trees or unusual elevations. Straight hitters who have a good judge of distance and elevation will consider the Par 5 s and par 3 a true test of golf.
A two way miss will not make for an enjoyable round. The eagle will get cross.
The greens are fair and well looked after. and a good size with many pin positions. The tee boxes are good. Bunkers are well maintained but not very many and so they are easily avoidable.
My biggest criticism is that some of the fairways were almost bare or were thin on grass and so require lift clean and place. But it may not be fun if there is still no reasonable lie for the place. The driving range uses mats but I prefer grass.
Eagles Crossing
My wife and I played this course while on our cross country trip. We were able to get a hot deal and only paid $12.00 each.
The course was in absolutely great condition. The fairways (when we were on them) were green and plush. The rough (where we spent some time) was in my opinion just right. Not too long to make it hard to find your ball but hard enough to make you feel like you want to be on the fairway. The greens were also in good condition. They had been aerated sometime in the past but this did not affect their play. The seemed to have been rolled so our putts rolled true also.
We did not visit the clubhouse after so I do not have much to say about that. There was a counter/bar where it looked like you could get a cold drink and food.
I would absolutely recommend playing here if you are in the area.
Nice Course
This is a challenging course. We had wet spots, but nothing can be done about that when it rained for a whole week. Staff was very nice and answered any question.
Tough Greens
Bring your A game to read the greens on this course. Course was in great shape and pace of play excellent.
Great course out in the country
challenging holes, green put true and are large
not busy and quick to play
Rolling Greens
This course will challenge your patience on and around the greens. I decided to get on this course before the summer weather makes the greens faster & next to impossible to whole a putt from anywhere but below the hole. Course was very wet on about 4 holes & the sand traps haven't been groomed yet this year. I love the layout & the staff is very friendly.
Fun hilly course
We got a Hot Deal on GolfNow for 18 holes and cart for $10. It was a sunny day with temps about 48 degrees. Luckily it wasn't windy, so it wasn't too crazy cold. We had a blast playing this course. Of course, there were not many people there because of the time of year, so we could zip around in 3 hours. The course was in excellent condition for the end of March. We will be back to play in warmer weather. The greens are extremely challenging with undulations. Looking forward to trying this course in the summer.
nice relaxing round
course in good shape for February, including the greens. only a few wet spots with poor drainage on 3 holes. not bad for all of the rain recently. our foursome had a relaxing round, with no problems. fun course with some long holes. the older electric carts are a little slow, especially up the hills. last time we played, we had to switch out our dying cart at the turn for another one. new carts likely mean increased green fees, so there is that to balance.
my 4some likes this track
longer course, so play up a tee box as jack recommends. a good variety of hole layouts here. greens a bit slow, but it is November and they are nicely healed from the aeration. bunkers have nice powdery sand (at least the ones I was in). no complaints and we will be back.
Great fall shape, grooming superb
Course was in fantastic shape as the cooler fall weather has aided grass growing throughout the course. Greens were the best I've seen last couple of years and fairways were also in great shape. Clubhouse went out of their way to keep the coffee freshly brewing to assist us in the fall morning chill as we picked up first cup on hole 1 and then on way to 5 and 10 at the turn before the noon time sun kicked with some extra warmth.
This is a 1 star course with very little maintenance and care on the course. The tees and greens have crabgrass like my lawn and the greens are so sloped you're doing well if you 3 putt. The bunkers are awkwardly placed and have leaves, weeds, and are not maintained. The carts are from the 90's and the parking brake didn't work on a very sloped course. I'm very confused as to why the golf now ratings are so high. Good views of the mountains but that's the only positive.
Great value, nice course
Eagles Crossing provides a great value on GolfNow with a hot deal. The course is in great shape and the staff are very friendly. The layout is good. This isn't a Nicklaus or Pete Dye track, mind you, but it is a challenging enough layout that's in excellent shape for the money!
Difficult greens, make you think.
Greens were in excellent shape. Even the flat greens have Suttle angles.
Will play again, that for sure
Club pro let me go out early, even though I was booked with 3 other players.
So it was a great day.
Rough
This course is rough. I don't think there is one he box that is flat. Every green and tee box is a potential broken or sprained ankle or knee from the holes. The bunkers I'm really no sure what is going on there. But there's little to no sand. Overall I would recommend playing elsewhere.
out of the way but worth it
staff real nice and professional. course in good shape. I am an 8 handicap and the 10th and 12th holes are tough so you may want to play the forward tees. otherwise bogeys or doubles are in your future. I will return
Beautiful course with challenging greens
This is one of my favorite courses in the area. In my opinion it is beautifully designed, and the greens present a wonderful challenge. This course has both my absolute favorite hole to play (#6) and my absolute least favorite to play (#16) of any golf holes I know of.
The "hot deal" time is always around noon, so expect a warmer round. I have never had an issue with pace of play or someone not letting me play through here, nor have I ever run into an issue of them making me pair up when I didn't want to.
The staff is great, they were even very helpful to me when I went there for the first time, giving me some extra pointers about the course.
