Great challenging course. Bring big spray!
We love this course ! Played a few times now. Challenging. Course was a little dry but in great shape. Gnats were out of control. Bad and biting this time. Such a friendly staff ! Great online discounts.
Good overall
The course has a very nice layout, with no two holes alike. This was the first I had ever played Eagles Crossing and i found it to be a good test of skill. The course condition could have been in better shape but it didn't away from the golf.
Nice course
Very good value and some challenging holes, but fairly open and easy on slicers.
Challanging greens...loved it
Nice course. Well maintained.
Excellent greens. Long holes.
I would recommend playing
Nice Course
Nice course, some challenging holes and a great value for the price.
Moderate condition course for moderate fee.
Greens are the highlights of this course. Small and sloped. Greens were in pretty good shape with not too many ball marks. Fairways were improved over previous times played the course. But the tees are uneven...a large drawback.
Challenging? Yes! Fair? Yes! Welcoming? Yes!
I booked this round at the last minute through Golf Now. The parking lot was nearly empty when we arrived at 11:00 AM for a noon tee time. The staff couldn't have been friendlier then and later when we finished our round.
Having read previous reviews we spent 15 minutes or so on the putting green, and I'm glad we did! We teed off on the back nine, by far the harder nine. The course was easy to follow; fairways clearly distinguishable from the not-to-punishing rough. If you choose the tee appropriate for your length, the course won't prove to be difficult tee to green. The greens are a different story! I haven't played another course in the Carlisle area with greens this sloped and undulating. Those 15 minutes on the practice green really payed off!
We had over an inch of rain the previous night; so, there were some wet areas, all clearly marked. We were restricted to the cart path on three holes due to the wet conditions. The gravel cart paths on the back nine had lots of puddles and could use a few loads of gravel to fill in the holes.
The scenery is magnificent! There are only a few homes along the course.
Road Construction!!!!
With all the road construction around this place they should see if they could just tear up this course and start over while they are in the area! From the tee boxes you couldn't tell which way the course went, the ruff and fairways look the same, once on the fairway you can tell why. My back yard is in better shape than the fairways. Then once you get to the greens, good luck. I don't mind tough hole placement but it was like putting on shag carpet, couple of times I should have used my driver to try a 15' putt!!! Pace of play was great but it should have been since nobody goes back to this place after the first time. The only shining spot was the people who work there, very friendly and gave me a bunch of advise before teeing off.
FIRST AND LAST TIME!!!
Very poor customer service
Staff was extremely rude. Group in front of us held us up on every hole yet the ranger came by and told them, and US to pick up our pace of play. I told the ranger we were being held up on every shot and he said he didn't want to hear about it. We then got berated on a later hole for driving off the cart path despite the pro shop telling us it was okay later in the afternoon if things had dried up, which they had.
In 24 years of playing golf I have never experienced such a rude and disrespectful staff.
Greens
The course is in great shape! The greens are very tough so you have to be careful where you hit it on the greens. The speed is very good.
Eagles Crossing GC
The course was very well maintained. Some holes had quite a bit of soggy areas as we just received a lot of rain. Conditions were very well explained and it was an enjoyable round. I recommend this course and will be back soon!
Expensive even for $25
Compared to other courses in Central PA, this place does not represent good value. Condition of the greens is terrible. Poor drainage. Fairly boring design. Hard to get to. Nothing appealing to do there, or nearby, such as a quality bar.
Great Deal!
Course was in good condition and pace of play was average. Pace of play could have been better by combining players. We were behind two singles, a twosome, and I would have been by myself as well, but I asked to join a twosome, so we all were not pushing each other. Overall, the course was solid and price point was excellent.
Fast Greens...
Always liked playing Eagles Crossing. They have fast and undulating greens. Pretty easy off the tee with the exception of a few holes. Staff has always been friendly and pace of play was excellent.
well above average few minor things
Very sexy lay out. Very unique mix of "approach with caution" and "green light" holes.. Greens will challenge everyone, you must embrace this or youll frustrate. Tee boxes are my only gripe. Uneven and long grass. Had to tee wherever it was flat. This seemed odd for such a great course. Overall very very worth the 25-35 bucks theyll charge.
