nice relaxing round
course in good shape for February, including the greens. only a few wet spots with poor drainage on 3 holes. not bad for all of the rain recently. our foursome had a relaxing round, with no problems. fun course with some long holes. the older electric carts are a little slow, especially up the hills. last time we played, we had to switch out our dying cart at the turn for another one. new carts likely mean increased green fees, so there is that to balance.
my 4some likes this track
longer course, so play up a tee box as jack recommends. a good variety of hole layouts here. greens a bit slow, but it is November and they are nicely healed from the aeration. bunkers have nice powdery sand (at least the ones I was in). no complaints and we will be back.
Great fall shape, grooming superb
Course was in fantastic shape as the cooler fall weather has aided grass growing throughout the course. Greens were the best I've seen last couple of years and fairways were also in great shape. Clubhouse went out of their way to keep the coffee freshly brewing to assist us in the fall morning chill as we picked up first cup on hole 1 and then on way to 5 and 10 at the turn before the noon time sun kicked with some extra warmth.
This is a 1 star course with very little maintenance and care on the course. The tees and greens have crabgrass like my lawn and the greens are so sloped you're doing well if you 3 putt. The bunkers are awkwardly placed and have leaves, weeds, and are not maintained. The carts are from the 90's and the parking brake didn't work on a very sloped course. I'm very confused as to why the golf now ratings are so high. Good views of the mountains but that's the only positive.
Great value, nice course
Eagles Crossing provides a great value on GolfNow with a hot deal. The course is in great shape and the staff are very friendly. The layout is good. This isn't a Nicklaus or Pete Dye track, mind you, but it is a challenging enough layout that's in excellent shape for the money!
Difficult greens, make you think.
Greens were in excellent shape. Even the flat greens have Suttle angles.
Will play again, that for sure
Club pro let me go out early, even though I was booked with 3 other players.
So it was a great day.
Rough
This course is rough. I don't think there is one he box that is flat. Every green and tee box is a potential broken or sprained ankle or knee from the holes. The bunkers I'm really no sure what is going on there. But there's little to no sand. Overall I would recommend playing elsewhere.
out of the way but worth it
staff real nice and professional. course in good shape. I am an 8 handicap and the 10th and 12th holes are tough so you may want to play the forward tees. otherwise bogeys or doubles are in your future. I will return
Beautiful course with challenging greens
This is one of my favorite courses in the area. In my opinion it is beautifully designed, and the greens present a wonderful challenge. This course has both my absolute favorite hole to play (#6) and my absolute least favorite to play (#16) of any golf holes I know of.
The "hot deal" time is always around noon, so expect a warmer round. I have never had an issue with pace of play or someone not letting me play through here, nor have I ever run into an issue of them making me pair up when I didn't want to.
The staff is great, they were even very helpful to me when I went there for the first time, giving me some extra pointers about the course.
Challenging course/great value
I find this course to be one of the more challenging courses in the area. The day I played the course it was in very good condition.....The greens were fast and challenging. .....Staff is always very friendly and helpful. If you haven't played this course yet give it a try.
Always a great place to play
Never have a bad experience when I'm at Eagles Crossing.
Undulating Greens
We have played the course on numerous occasions. The greens are some of the most challenging in the Central PA area. One of the best golf hole's can be found on #16. It is almost an island green that is 175 yards (White) for an elevated tee box. All in all I feel we always have a fun, yet challenging round at eagles crossing. We will go back again this season to see if we can improve on our play.
Eagles Crossing
Nice open course with challenging holes, well maintained and perfect greens
Shaun75
Course was in good condition and the greens were fast for a early season round but true.
pleasant course
It is a nice course with some unique holes. the greens were recently aerated which negatively affected putting
Another great time at this fun and challenging course
The layout is interesting, challenging and a joy to play. Most shots will be played with some slope in mind. On both your shot and your landing area. While not overly challenging, you can be punished on some stray shots. Rewarded for your miscue with a severe slope to navigate on your short game shots. A good mix of medium long to shortish holes. A small amount of water comes into play. Notably on a couple of the par threes. With small ponds needing to be carried. Both the shorter length players, like myself, and the big hitters will find the course enjoyable.
The greens are undulating with a sensible speed. Kept very playable, while allowing you to use your imagination with the slopes. Very fun to play when putting, pitching and chipping. Unless these are poor areas in your game. You could struggle.
The staff is friendly and the prices are low. I paid $7 for a hot sausage, that came with chips, a large soda and candy. Rounds are usually just as low with many "hot deals" to be found.
Excellent Value
I've been playing this course since it opened, I love the layout, the large undulating greens and the overall challenge it poses.
The course is usually in good condition, the greens usually have decent speed, approx. 8-9 on stimp meter.
The value is excellent for the layout and challenge you get.
I know a few who do not like to play the course due to it being "challenging", that's one of the main reasons I like it.
The staff is always courteous and friendly, I usually play here 6-7 times a year, and would like to play here more often.
Water is in play on 5-6 holes and fairways are mostly generous.
