Meadow Golf Course at Pole Creek Golf Club
About
There are three par-36, nine-hole courses available at Pole Creek Golf Club in Tabernash, which are played in different 18-hole combinations. It's the only 27-hole public facility in Grand County. The three nines, called the Meadow, the Ridge, and the Ranch, offer Colorado mountain golf at its best. As its name would imply, the Meadow nine sprawls across lush green meadows, beautifully accented with colorful patches of native wildflowers. The gently rolling terrain provides some subtle contours but it's nowhere near as dramatic as the challenging Ridge nine. The Meadow has the occasional water hazard and a few strategically placed bunkers but it and the Ranch nine are the more player-friendly golf courses at Pole Creek. No matter which combination you play, you'll enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

My favorite mountain course
The course is wonderfully laid out in the mountains, not far from Fraser, CO. They course is challenging and fair. The pace of play is usually very good. The practice facility is extensive and they give you free range balls when you play a round.
One of Colorado's best
I had high expectations before playing this course (we played the Ridge and the Ranch nines), and I wasn't disappointed. Great views, terrific layout and lots of interesting holes throughout were the norm here. Conditions were also exceptional. There are several elevated tees where you can see for miles, including the ninth hole on the Ridge Course, a downhill par 5 with a drop of a few hundred feet where you can see 50 miles in every direction. The Ridge Nine, by the way, is the newest, so those greens are a bit on the firm side. You just have to adjust where you hit the ball because approaches will take a hop... Facility offers Golf Bikes, by the way, as an option.
Interesting layout
Some challenging holes made this a fun golf experience. The course was in great shape for early season golfing. Rain showers kept coming thru but we could shelter until they passed. Vistas of snow covered mountains were spectacular.
Wow!
What a treat to play this phenomenal course. I've played many mountain courses in Colorado and this is head and shoulders one of the best. Quite a treat for this Houstonian.
Most beautiful course in the state
Played with a hot deal but worth every penny at regular price Must play this course before winter comes
Ecellent
Play here several time a year. Challenging but beautiful course. Greens were impeccable.
Must play if in Fraser Valley
Best Colorado Mtn course for the money. Very well maintained.
We liked it so much we came back a second day
This course is almost 4 hours from our home, will be back as often as possible. Staff is exceptional, locals warm and friendly, all 3 courses are unique, challenging, extremely well maintained, with some really interesting holes and spectacular scenery.
Course Marshalls all went out of their way to explain the course and particular holes, stopped by every day while we were playing not to yell at us, but to offer friendly howdies and advice for the hole. Wow.
Had some issues with the maintenance crew on 3 different holes. Apparently no one has told them that when golfers are approaching and in their midst, good customer service dictates moving away from the golfers as much as possible, and stopping their machinery while the customers make their shots. One guy did park his riding mower but at the edge of the green during our approaches, directly between one golfer and the pin.
Other than that, darn near perfect!
Great Course. .. can't wait to go back
I found t he course and the personnel to be exceprional. Told Marshall we were all 1st timers at course and they meet us at key holes to provide some guidance... the course was in great shape considering conditions... it's a drive but it was worth it..greens were fast & pretty clean... views are smaxing...
Highly Recommend This Course!
Excellent condition and the have 3 9 hole courses. We played the Ranch and Ridge courses. The condition of the fairways and greens were amazing and if I lived here I would play regularly.
Wonderful Mountain Course
My favorite course in Grand County. 27 beautiful holes. Friendly and helpful staff. The course is in great condition. It was quite windy but still enjoyable. The greens were in perfect condition. I will definitely be back.
Beautiful course
Great mountain course. Very challenging yet not to hard!
Fun to Play!
Excellent design taking advantage of the natural terrain. Great variety hole to hole. Excellent condition. Is now my favorite mountain course.
MEADOW / RIDGE
Course is in great condition, only one green (#9 on Meadow) had minor issues that should be corrected in a few weeks. Ridge was spectacular as always. Practice putting green very indicative of play conditions. Pole Creek is challenging but fair. Elevations can be VERY deceptive. Locals have a bit of an attitude but that's their problem...probably has to do with the harsh winters & hibernation...
Really good course!
Even though we played on Oct. 16th and the course had been aerified, it was in amazingly good shape! There are courses on the front range that aren't in as good shape right now as this one. It was still really green and lush with no dead spots in the fairways. We played the Meadows and Ranch combo and the layout and views were terrific. We got a great price on Golfnow and the weather was still perfect. Not many people playing this late in the year, so we played at our own pace, finishing in less then 3 and a half hours. We really enjoyed it and would recommend this place. The only slight drawback was the lady who checked us in wasn't very welcoming and it seemed like we were disturbing her from her real work. The gentleman on the range was very helpful however, asking us if we needed more range balls and telling us where the first tee was for the Meadows course. Overall, a great day golfing in the Rockies!
Just aerated
Love this course. However they just aerated and sanded the greens on the Ridge course. I would wait to play there again until next season. The fairways were pristine. The views are amazing. Lots of fun and challenging holes.
Fantastic Fall Golf!
Fairways and Greens were in excellent condition. The greens were better than carpet. Our group of golfers were a little slow at playing. Partly because the scenery was so nice and partly because they are just slow golfers. The Course Marshall was very courteous, asking us to let two other groups play through. Other golfers were very courteous, as well. An excellent fall course. Thank you Pole Creek for working with GolfNow to provide a great deal, as we traveled several hours to take advantage of it.
Spectacular!
Great Colorado mountain golf, on a perfect late summer day! Grab the great deal and head up.
Great course, fun, hilly
This 9 is less difficult than the Ranch 9 (contrary to the writeup). It has great elevation changes and scenic views. The course is relatively forgiving, although you'll want to play #4 wisely. The yardarge doesn't feel as long as you'd expect from the scorecard. No forced carries make this friendly. You would want to be in good shape to walk this course. The 9th hole is a great way to finish up a good day in the hills, especially in the evening!
Specifics:
#1 It's hard to see the green on the approach, trust the yardage.
#3 don't go long on the approach, since you'll quickly find tall stuff a few yards past with its convexity.
#4 stay right. Left off the tee, beware on the approach of any headwind to get you wet.
#5 the yardage can be 20 yards shorter at the blue & red tees.
#6 it's relatively easy to play in the sand, they seem closer than the 288 on the scorecard. A long shot can skip through all the sand, but you may need to get all of it. It's hard to see the green on the approach unless you get close.
#7 make sure the party ahead gets onto the green, it's pretty short.
#9 gorgeous hole, enjoy!
