Meadow Golf Course at Pole Creek Golf Club
About
There are three par-36, nine-hole courses available at Pole Creek Golf Club in Tabernash, which are played in different 18-hole combinations. It's the only 27-hole public facility in Grand County. The three nines, called the Meadow, the Ridge, and the Ranch, offer Colorado mountain golf at its best. As its name would imply, the Meadow nine sprawls across lush green meadows, beautifully accented with colorful patches of native wildflowers. The gently rolling terrain provides some subtle contours but it's nowhere near as dramatic as the challenging Ridge nine. The Meadow has the occasional water hazard and a few strategically placed bunkers but it and the Ranch nine are the more player-friendly golf courses at Pole Creek. No matter which combination you play, you'll enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

Great course, challenging
This 9 is the most challenging of the courses at Pole Creek (contrary to the current description). It requires wise shot selection with distance & direction control. The scorecard info isn't always correct (e.g. #6). The tee box distance can vary by 35 yards from the scorecard distance. The course plays shorter than advertised. The tall rough can really swallow your ball. The greens can be very fast!
Specifics:
#1 - it's fairly blind as to pin location until you're pretty close, maybe 175 out.
#3 - be careful going right or long on the approach
#4 - it's closer to the water than it states, especially going right
#6 - it's definitely closer to the water than on the scorecard. 220+ puts you in the water. Missing right on the approach shot risks rolling off the convex landing area into the tall stuff
#7 - blue tee can be 25 y less than on the scorecard and going right leaves little room to land your shot on the convex end of the green.
#8 - it's possible to outdrive the fairway going straight from blue, beware
#9 - definitely don't hook/draw off the tee. Going long on the approach is risky
The food is excellent. The staff is super nice. Bring your golfnow.com receipt!
Wonderful Course
Great mountain course. Excellently maintained. Gorgeous views of the Continental Divide. Very friendly staff. My favorite course in Grand County. An added bonus was the fall colors.
Awesome course
One of the best mountain courses. Moderately challenging from white tees, very challenging from the tips. Great courses, beautiful scenery, wonderful layout, sooo much fun.
Terrific!
What else can I say. The course is in excellent condition. Every staff member I spoke with was kind, courteous, and interesting to talk to. A "10" experience for us.
Too bad Happy Hour is over at 5. Not a soul in the bar. Why not extend it to 6 or closing? We then may have stayed for dinner.
Best golf course
Overall the best golf course in colorado with beautiful views
Golf bikes!
We had golfed at Pole Creek last summer and had a really good time. So, when we found a great deal on Golf Now over Labor Day weekend, we decided to make the drive and play it again. When we pulled up to drop our clubs, that's when we saw them...the golf bikes. Over lunch we talked ourselves into it, and we're so glad we did! We were supposed to play the Ranch, but the Marshall said it was crowded and moved us to the Meadow. The pacing was perfect for us as a twosome, even on the bikes. Hole seven was a bear---we've heard of a dogleg left, but a dog leg left downhill over a lake, followed by an uphill with more leg to the green--pretty much a horseshoe. After we lost two balls apiece, we called it good and split a beer. Good times.
love this course
This is a beautiful course...absolutely love it. The greens are in great shape...the views spectacular and the clubhouse is really nice
If you like mountains you will love this course.
Got behind a very slow group but the marshals responded very quickly and sped them up.

beautiful! was a wonderful golfing experience! this facility deserves all the accolades it receives ...not overrated !!!
Worth Getting There
Pole Creek is a typical mountain course but a good 2 hours from the Denver metro area over Berthed Pass. Beautiful scenery, parts are very hilly, rewarded for fairway hits, and penalized for leaving fairway. Course was in great condition, but the weather was cool and drizzly wet for the back nine. I hope to play again if I can get a good Golf Now price again!
Great Course
The course is fair but challenging. Some of the par 4s are long but not out of range if you hit two good average distance shots. The greens are challenging with undulations and some tight pin placements.
The green surface was in great condition with very few marks so no excuses here. The sand traps and bunkers had nice soft sand and no mud like you find on many courses. I look forward to playing again.
By the way, the scenery and wild flowers were top notch!
Challenging, but fair
Pole Creek is a beautiful layout of 27-holes. Occasionally afternoon storms can blow in, but we had perfect weather. Cool mornings and balmy afternoons make for enjoyable play.
Their 19th hole, Bistro 28, offers incredible food at good prices. There was a wedding rehearsal dinner there the day we played, so that speaks to the quality of food.
I wish I had played better, but it was fun nonetheless.
simply amazing
Pole creek is an amazing course...my friend and I played the meadow front and ridge back....this course had great elevation changes and views...well manicured also....usual round costs100$ we played it for 17$ each from golf now....tee off was 4:20 pm hence the cheap rate we finished in plenty time before dark
Pole Creek
Course was very beautiful. Nice views, wildlife, wild flowers, overall very appealing. Course itself is challenging and demanding off the tee. If you are in the fairway, it plays easier. If you miss the fairway....good luck. Greens are good sized and not many straight putts. Would love to go again now I know some of the lines off the tee. Also, if you are not used to the elevation, watch your club choice, the ball flies at over 8000 ft!
Breathtaking
The course was a joy to play. The fairways and greens were absolutely beautiful and the scenery was out of this world. Wild flowers and mountain views were on all sides on each hole.
Pole Creek July 2015
Second time I have played this course, loved it both times. Beautiful setting up near Winter Park, CO. I hope to come and play this course at least once a year because it is well worth the 2 hour drive from Denver. Both times I have played it the course was in excellent condition.
Always a good day at Pole Creek
I've played Pole Creek at various times over 25 years. The course was in good shape, as it usually is. Like the other Grand County courses, Pole Creek has reached a point where the regular fares are out of my price range so I don't play there as often as I would like. But it remains an excellent place to play when I can get a discount through golfnow.com or another website.
ideal colorado golf venue
I'm still trying to figure out how to play certain holes on the course. I've played the course a half dozen times over the last ten years and still consider it one of the prettiest courses. Love having to let the deers play thru the fairways.
Interesting mountain course
Good solid facility, three nines, scenery spectacular, practice area nice, course in good shape the greens even better, tough course to walk, well worth the trip up from Denver, restaurant has very good food. My only criticism is the cart paths are dirt - feels like I am covered with an inch of dust after the round. Would recommend!
