Knockanally Golf and Country Club

Good greens were the highlight of the round. The fairways and tee boxes were a bit beat up in places, some from animal damage and some from neglect. The layout was quirky in places, with a few massive dogleg turns. Was disappointed that they refused to rent me a buggy, I am dealing with a back injury and was hoping to make it easy on myself. There were a row of them outside the clubhouse, but I was told they are for members only.

Picturesque but tough - Knockanally meanders its way through the North Kildare countryside throwing up a range of shots that would test any golfer. The greens were firm and in excellent condition and ensured my score wasn't going to be any lower than it was. This place is a gem and I'd golf again.

The only downside was there was no buggys available and the greens were a small bit sandy but they're usually perfect!

The course layout is the same but the trees have grown and make the course look really good.

Had a really good day in Knockanally, got around the front nine at a good pace but ran into problems with big delays on the back nine. However we were only a two ball and got stuck behind a couple of four balls (European tourists, and they were pretty slow if I'm honest) when we got into the clubhouse at about 6.30ish there was no food available, which was a bit of a surprise but aside from that. We had a really great day and will definitely be back to play this course again.

Has the potential to be a good course but needs some work. If I had known that the greens were sanded I would not have played. Some very good holes but very much up and down feel. Maybe on a different day I would have thought differently.
Course was very wet and the bunkers were hard and not raked. The clubhouse was a magnificent old house which looked great on the outside (repair needed ) but not really suitable inside. e.g. You need weight training to open some of the doors. Would like to play when it's dry. Maybe

First time to play it but will be back staff at club house where very accomadating as we had only booked for a two ball and they let us go in a four ball without hesitation

Played for €10. The facilities aren't great but the course is decent and challenging.

I PLAYED WITH MY TWO SONS, ONE OF WHICH IS A PROGRESSIVE YOUNG GOLFER, COURSE WAS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION, ONLY COMPLAINT WITH COURSE WAS THAT ONE OR TWO OF THE GREENS WERE IN NEED OF A CUT, TO KEEP UP WITH THE ONES THAT WERE LIGHTNING FAST. ONLY BAD POINT AND IT IS A BIG ONE IS THAT, WE WERE EATEN TO BITS BY FLY'S FROM START TO FINISH AND THIS DOES RUIN THE GAME SOMEWHAT, A LITTLE WARNING ABOUT THE SWARMS OF FLY'S WOULDN'T GO A MISS, AND ONE COULD PREPARE IN SOMEWAY

I have played this course on a few occasions and it used to be very ordinary but in the last few months it's condition has improved beyond all recognition

some greens and fairways were quite patchy this somewhat surprised at this as it came highly recommended to me, work on new tee box on 9th is ongoing, good value but little disappointed with course

We found the greens very slow for such a great period of weather we were having, would have expected them to be cut a little tighter.

Very impressed with the conditions on the course. Greens were very well maintained so my hat off to the greenkeepers. Little bit wet/boggy on the 3rd to the 5th. Maybe like the fairways bit wider on these holes!! Back 9 very enjoyable. Par 3's are good for all handicaps. Seems like a very friendly club. I'll be back to play here again.
