HARD PAN
Staff amazing but the course was Horrible! No grass tees, fairways all hardpan! The greens loaded with sand!!!! Very poor conditions!
Really?
So the I don't even know what you call 90 percent of the golfers out there but I am sure it is a derogatory word but you all draw the line at playing when 9 holes only is available? Packed to the max worse than ever yesterday - you all don't check with the golf course or its website to see if the greens are being done BEFORE you go out? Really? You will play when it is raining, you will play when the course is saturated so that you tear up the course even worse than normal because 90 percent of you can't hit the ball, you will play when it is 105 degrees out but you won't play when only 9 holes is available? No more comments about that - just be glad when the out of state foreigners are out of here!!!!
Really? 2 to 3 Groups Every Hole!!
Do you NOT realize you have to control these moron golfers who have no manners and very little ability in the first place? Friend of mine just texted me and said EVERY HOLE has a minimum of 2 groups and they are too close together so it will turn out to be close to a 5 hour round!
One Last Shot But...
We gave it one last shot and that was a disaster! Of course a 4some (military guys perhaps?) showed their manners and golf etiquette was totally non-existent and we noted a 5some TWICE on the Oaks. For a course management to say that won't happen anymore, it seems to happen a LOT. Since things really won't change until the Pines opens up for everyone, we will play up at Crestview and at Hurlburt.
Review Of Gator Lakes Compared To Fort Walton Beach
Not even close. Played Gator Lakes teeing off around 10:30 - we finished before 1:00. Greens were every bit as good as any course in Destin. Fairways and Rough a little wet from the previous day rain but it was fair with plenty of grass on the fairways and the rough challenging but not ridiculous. Paid the same or maybe a buck or two less than the out of towners pay at FWB Oaks. I know this might involve a little thinking but a 10 second internet search will show/tell you how to obtain access to the Gator Lakes course but if you all want to keep getting in everyone's way at the Oaks, go for it. We won't anymore until the Pines opens up again!
Felt Bad For The Single Player In Front Of Me
Never fails when you have out of towners or out of state golfers - have no golf manners at all. Poor single player that caught up to them on the front nine had to wait until the 18th hole until they FINALLY let him play thru. That is unfortunately when the rain came down. What was the deal around 3PM with 4 different groups all on the 1st tee? Need to control when people actually go out on the course and don't let players tee off early. Of course they got drenched so that was kind of funny. Partners and I will recommend people to play this course once the out of towners get the heck out of our way!
No Single Players In The Morning
Golfers who make a tee time for the morning that are single players - that isn't going to happen and that is something the golf course has made known quite a few times. Afternoons might be a different manner but mornings there are no single players.
Not much good about this round.
I’ve played here quite a few times and I’ve usually enjoyed my rounds here but it’s only been downhill the last year. The greens are terrible, huge spots of dead grass and lots of sand all over. The tee boxes are like hitting out of a bunker especially on the par threes. The cups look like they haven’t been cut for a week or more, dead edges and mostly jacked up all the way around. I won’t play here again until the pines opens back up. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else.
Who Will Be The First?
So when the Pines opens up to MEMBERS only, who is going to be the first to try and play the Pines as a non-member - even if he/she tries to play with a member because you know it is going to happen FWB Golf Course Management so how are you going to prevent that from happening? I am assuming as a non-member I cannot play the Pines even with a member correct??
TEE TIMES
Interesting to note for 31 July that a LOT of tee times are still wide open which leads us to believe that either people wait until the day they want to play to make a tee time online (nothing wrong with that) or they are total hillbilly knuckleheads who just drive out to the course expecting to play. A practice the golf course needs to stop unless it is like after 3PM. No tee time in advance? No playing.
Double Booking Tee Times
Purpose of the title is when the golf course CONSTANTLY double books tee times, I know their theory is making money but golfers do not remotely play at the same pace plus as I have heard multiple times, these people do not know that a tee time means that is your tee time - not before and DEFINITELY not after! If for example a 2 some has a tee time, THAT IS IT! Do not keep that time open for other golfers to use - it just backs the course up more and more - especially with only one course available! Don't frustrate the golfers - especially the loyal local golfers, whether members or not!!!!
