Had a wonderful round of golf today in Callan. Course is well maintained. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Fantastic course
An absolute steal for 20 euro for the round. The course was in excellent condition. Tight fairways and some small greens made for a very challenging round.
No one at club house for tee off. Course very criss cross including crossing a road for 3 holes. Greens very bumpy but under work. Fairways in good condition.
I was a member here many years ago. Showing the signs of lack of investment. Greens and surrounds poor! I had good sound company of 2 members on the way around.

Classic Irish parkland
This is a gorgeous course. It's old with lots of random trees all around. The greens are nice and the sand is very good. There's nothing spectacular about it in terms of views but its an old school parkland course which oozes charm. It's not busy during the week so very pleasant to enjoy at your own pace. There are some holes that are excellent- #7 is a peach, with a huge old tree in front of the green. #18 is beautiful with the autumn leaves right now.
12 holes open in August
When we arrived no one in reception or pro shop. Lady in bar lacked knowledge of course. When went to first tee professional nearby,giving lesson to youngster directed us to 7th as first 6 holes closed. We had not been informed.
When we reached the 13 th there was a major delay as apparently a seniors competition was starting on the 7th and 13th holes simultaneously........
A great Round Ireland
This is my first time in Ireland and I was looking for a round of golf to get away from the regular tourist sites . This golf course was in great condition I rented clubs which were quality clubs the course is in great condition and the staff could not be friendlier and more courteous , And the regular players were very nice people as everyone in Ireland is .
