Excellent Course
I stayed in the holiday homes on site and played three times. This is a fantastic course and excellently maintained. Greens have character. Well placed bunkers (as I found on many occasions) with loads of soft sand, fairways were well maintained, generous, but lay in wait for those who tried to bite too much off the tee. Rough was forgiving enough, but some long dense rough on the par threes. Water features on many holes and the last four holes are the best sequence I've played recently. At 25euro midweek, this represents great value.
I played on Mon, Wed and Fri, and each day there was a full team cutting every green, fairway and on two of the mornings, the rough. Every bunker was racked and greens watered. All before first tee off at 8am.
My only gripe was the office staff: I arrived on Sunday and enquires about tee times. I was told that there was nothing available for Monday AM, but could get me out in the PM for 25e or Tues - Fri for 30e. I told them I was a resident, but no discount. Went to my holiday home and checked on-line. Tee times were available before 9AM on Monday, and the price for Tues - Fri was 25e. I checked Golf Now and their price was 26e, claiming a discount of 25%. Moral; check all methods. I used Golf Now for Monday and the Golf Club website for Wed and Fri. Very user friendly.
Great course
Excellent course, come on leaps and bounds over the last few years, some great holes. Greens could do with a little more water,
Great course for the long hitter
We were a bit unlucky as it was very windy the day we played but we still really enjoyed the round. The wide fairways and big greens. Greens had plenty contours and receptive. Bunkers were in good condition and very consistent. The fairways were like a carpet. Enjoyed the challenge of the par threes especially the 18th.
picturesque
The course is fabulous, has great fairways , lots of dog legs. You don't always see the flag from the tees, long course and very challenging. It is very beautiful, the staff love their job and it shows.
Cold
Great course although bunkers where out of action. Long but fair. Definitely be back.
beautiful course and great value.
Great course and beautiful facilities, greens in optimal conditions, bit soft fairways but normal considering the time of the year.
Top of the range course.
The course was in great conditon. top class facilities great value for money. Staff were very friendly. It was busy when we got there due to frost in the morning that had delayed play. This didn't impact our round we teed off on time and play moved along well.
Knightsbrook
Lovely course , good challenge . Only issue is no sandbags and needs signs for players to repair pitch marks
Long but managable
I played Knightsbrook in early December on a crisp, sunny day. Tee boxes and fairways were in very good condition, while the greens would have loved some TLC. Notices to repair pitch marks seem to be largely ignored. There are four par threes with accuracy and club selection very important due to water hazards lurking to receive any poorly judged shots.
Overall I found it a well designed facility and I can't wait to return.
Fanastic greens
Given that I played at the end of October, the course was in great condition with true greens. Would recommend to anyone. Only thing lacking was a range to warm up apart from two practice net.
like this course. Good test
It's a long course that makes you place the ball. Need to think about where you need to put the ball. Really like this course
Well worth a visit
Really enjoyed my round here. Course is long, but fair. Some really nice holes that will challenge the best players.
The course was in excellent condition throughout. The greens are a real challenge but they are in great shape and it's not long before you get the hang of them.
First visit
Enjoyable round played off green markers course still quite long if your not driving the ball well greens fairways excellent condition certainly would visit again.
Great Course, nice people.
I paired up with some very nice people who knew the course and made it a very enjoyable experience.
This course has a fantastic layout
Course has a fantastic layout, some holes the higher handicap golfer would struggle with a bail out shot as there really isn't one.
Shaping the ball from the tee a must on some of the holes but good drives are rewarded with mid to short irons into the greens.
Although the greens are big with plenty of slope and require your concentration .
Meath Magic
Very well maintained course. Sandy bunkers, lush fairways and rolling greens. No bad holes on this course. Greens are well defended. It's on my re-visit list. Back 9 take in mature parkland features and some great challenges across water. Only gripe would be, for the visitor a course map on the scorecard would be useful.
Very interesting and well maintained parkland course
Beautiful parkland course attached to a luxurious spa hotel, which offers delicious coffee and scones before tee off and delicious food at the 19th hole. There are several challenging dog-leg holes which require an accurate tee shot to set up the shot to the green. Water also features at several holes on the course.
Excellent course within easy reach of Dublin
The course is very nicely maintained, has several feature holes and presents a reasonable challenge for golfers of all standards.
