Deer Valley Golf Course in Hummelstown boasts one of the most affordable rounds you'll find in the Hershey/Harrisburg area. Since opening in 2005, more than 850 trees have been added and it has matured into a course favored by both visitors and locals. The layout features large, elevated greens and massive multi-tiered tees. From the golf course's peaks, the views stretch all the way to Hershey and the Blue Mountains. The winding layout twists and turns, doglegging left and right. It's a challenging layout round despite the absence of sand bunkers. There is however, thick rough and a number of grass bunkers to watch out for. Water only makes a brief appearance. Deer Valley Golf Course isn't overly challenging but for a fun and fair test, it's an affordable option that also offers some beautiful scenery.

What a hidden Gem! Whole course is in excellent shape. Pace of play was little slow, but everyone kept up. Just you had to wait on each Tee Box for group in front. Staff was so great. Made the whole process easy and fun. Greens are a challenge.
Beautiful and challenging
First off I will say the course is in very good condition! Tee's fairways, rough and greens were excellent. Definitely a course where knowledge of the greens are the key to scoring! Being under the hole and leaving an uphill putt would have been ideal! Every putt had break from the side and the greens were very fast! If you missed it the ball would roll out to a difficult following putt! I didn't score very well but thoroughly enjoyed playing. Deer Valley will be in my rotation of courses I play around Central PA.
A local favorite
Deer Valley is a great course overall... Average difficulty, great conditions, fair prices. My only gripe is the pace of play is typically slow. Even during the week it's usually busy enough to have to wait at every hole. I wish they would have marshals on the course or space out the tee times a bit more. Otherwise I always enjoy playing here.
Great Course.
Got the chance to play today with my dad riding along as my "caddy" post shoulder surgery. Course was in fantastic condition, One of the best in the area that I have played this summer. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience as did my dad. Staff was very friendly and the pace of play was amazing, as the course wasn't too packed. Only barely caught up to a group of 2 in front of us on hole 17. Will definitely be coming again before the season is over. Ended up shooting my personal best round at 81, so pretty biased I'd say.

we thoroughly enjoyed our round today. A little slow on the back but the weather was so nice it didn't really matter. A+ as always
Overbooked.
Course was decent - but the course itself was overbooked. There was a line 2 groups deep at each tee box, and the front 9 was a 2.5 hour venture. The pace of play was horrible, and we left after 9 holes. I would not recommend this course to friend, nor would I return.
Beautiful course
Staff was very friendly and the course was in great shape. Finished our round in 3 and a half hours. Highly recommend!
