Deer Valley Golf Course
About
Deer Valley Golf Course in Hummelstown boasts one of the most affordable rounds you'll find in the Hershey/Harrisburg area. Since opening in 2005, more than 850 trees have been added and it has matured into a course favored by both visitors and locals. The layout features large, elevated greens and massive multi-tiered tees. From the golf course's peaks, the views stretch all the way to Hershey and the Blue Mountains. The winding layout twists and turns, doglegging left and right. It's a challenging layout round despite the absence of sand bunkers. There is however, thick rough and a number of grass bunkers to watch out for. Water only makes a brief appearance. Deer Valley Golf Course isn't overly challenging but for a fun and fair test, it's an affordable option that also offers some beautiful scenery.

staying at local Thousand Trails Campground..
While staying at the Hershey Thousand Trails decided to check out a local golf course. and came upon Deer Valley.. What a nice track.. very lush green well manicured course. THe green of bent grass were in good condition..(where I come from NC most courses are not Mini Verda Championship bermuda grass) so being able to put of them was a delight.
Playing during COVID was intresting as there was foam in the cup to keep ball up near top for easy remove with out taking the flag out.
The manager was on course as well doing stuff to keep it in top notch condition.
Going to be heading back later this week to play again we liked it that much.

Course was in good condition. Some greens were hard but in good shape. Staff is always accommodating.
Good round
Used to get cart included with Golfnow; what happened that all rounds are walking now!?
The course and staff are awesome. Tough times during the virus shutdown but the ownership
Did what they have to do to open. My only complaint is for the app. I paid for cart rental but the golf course had it as walking. The confirmation on my phone didn’t say walking or riding. I paid the extra $10 without argument. The staff had enough to deal with without me throwing a fit. It would be nice if the confirmation shows walking or riding
Fun Round
Neat course, good mix of Par 3’s, 4’s, & 5’s. Greens are challenging, but not impossible. Owner was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Bill and his dog are both excellent! The staff is friendly and they all try to be helpful.
No sand on the course helps scoring and pace of play. I went out solo today and was not held up at all which is always great to do a sub 3 hour round but do not expect that as the good weather days become more numerous.
The greens there are crazy slow making it hard to adjust to playing elsewhere if you play here with any frequency. The course drains well overall. They do a good job with fairways, tee boxes and greens especially considering how value conscious their core customer is. The greens rolled a little better after Bill either cut or rolled them on the back nine ahead of me.
Barring imbalanced weather, their turf should be in very good shape as they have really worked hard to take advantage of the opportunities of a more mild winter.

Course was in great shape for this time of year. I elected to to play the front nine twice without any problems.

Course was in great condition. No leaves on fairways and the greens were in good condition.
First time
This was first time playing course. Although layout was odd at times the course itself was in great shape. The staff was extremely friendly. I have been looking to place the course for sometime and will definitely add it to my favorites list. Wish I would have played it sooner
Good Course
Deer Valley is a good course, while not long, it is challenging. The course caters to senior golfers but all golfers can enjoy a good and reasonable challenge.
Not Impressed!!
We booked the 1st time because my playing partner and I (we play as a 2 some) like to finish early and get to other things. The course is OK and not the 1st time I played there. The owner of the course had a 4 some tee off in front of us. We were told we had to follow them, they would set the pace of play and we were not allowed to play through??? This was as they said so the grounds crew could cut greens without being pushed or rushed?? We had to follow them for the entire round, a real drag. Talk about promoting slow play.. Our fast round for a 2some turned into a 4 hr. Round. Don’t think I will be going back!!
