Deer Valley Golf Course in Hummelstown boasts one of the most affordable rounds you'll find in the Hershey/Harrisburg area. Since opening in 2005, more than 850 trees have been added and it has matured into a course favored by both visitors and locals. The layout features large, elevated greens and massive multi-tiered tees. From the golf course's peaks, the views stretch all the way to Hershey and the Blue Mountains. The winding layout twists and turns, doglegging left and right. It's a challenging layout round despite the absence of sand bunkers. There is however, thick rough and a number of grass bunkers to watch out for. Water only makes a brief appearance. Deer Valley Golf Course isn't overly challenging but for a fun and fair test, it's an affordable option that also offers some beautiful scenery.

Great course, excellent value
Staff was super friendly and the course was in fantastic shape. The tee boxes were like walking on padded carpeting, fairways and rough were in very good shape, and the greens were in tip top condition.
My wife and I live in a motorhome and travel the country and play lots of different courses in the $25-40 with cart range. This is one of the nicest in that $$ range that we have ever played. We’ll play this one again if we make it back this way.
Bucolic
Really enjoyed my round this morning. First time here. I’m in Hershey for an event and got in a quick 18 before taking my kids to the park. Got out early so we moved at a good pace. Looked crowded by the time I finished. Course was in great shape. Beautiful, bucolic scenery of central PA. Played very nice! Not too hard but still fairly challenging. Would prefer sand in the bunkers. Little disappointed that there wasn’t a driving range but the putting green was big and well maintained. I’ll definitely play here again some time:
Greens are fast
Greens excellent shape and fast course overall also in great shape
Nice, not difficult
Wide open fairways, plays shorter than it appears. Greens in good shape. Good value for $30 walking on a Saturday morning. But busy place. Pace of play is a problem. Tee sheet is packed and starter did not space it out to allow groups time to get going. Why send off group after group “right on time” if the group on the first fairway is waiting fir a group on the first green. Lots of standing around waiting on an otherwise nice course
