Forgot what number whole that was but I was the front 9. Photo submitted by Jasonrapp81 on 02/28/2021
Greens going down hill
Te greens need to be top dressed and leveled out so grass will fill in the potted greens. All they are doing is aeriating and verticutting the greens. Pot marks all over the greens and cant put on them! Charging $25 in morning plus tax, where other better courses are available for the same amount!
ENLESS
Booking times were too close. 1pm tee time, 2 golfers didn't finish until after 5:30 pm. Total frustration. The golfers in front of us had no regard for the players behind them. Will never go back.
Course was in sad shape no grass in fairways
Greens were ok but fairways were pretty bad.
oh dear!
Well, where do you start?
Tees, fairways and greens not cut recently!
It was terrible!
At $11 it was kpoor value.
Clubhouse not open, no coffee available.
Keep clear!

Oldie but Goodie
The course is obviously well aged, 60's. However updating & repairs to buildings & course are evident. The greens were to my liking & in decent condition. Most fairways were decently watered but the outer fringes were sandy & devoid of grass, thus staying centered on route to the green was imperative. The ranger was aware of a 5 some ahead of us, which he monitored almost continuously - they were doing a scramble of some sort!
Much improved
The course has greatly improved from what it was back in September. Very pleased with the condition of greens and fairways.
Indian Lakes Estates
The fairways were poor and the greens were worse. Probably the worst conditions I have ever played on any golf course ever.
Good Layout, Bad Conditions
The fairways were threadbare except for the weeds. The greens had a lot of weeds and were very bumpy. Roll in the fairways was was impeded by clumps of mud. Sorry, but I cannot recommend this course.
Poor conditions but work being done.
Nice layout. Good length. Good variety of tee boxes. Cart was almost new. Staff friendly. Not many playing the course. Older course undergoing gradual improvements. Turf and greens being renewed and grass is long on both to allow seeding to take root. Plenty of new fairway grass. Greens were level enough but length of cut made them barely playable. Price paid reflected conditions. Good place to practice or for newer players. Will be OK once improvements done. Older but functional clubhouse.
I bet this place used to be grand.
To get to to course you have to drive through what could only be described as a ghost town. Pulling up to Indian Estates was an eerie experience. October is start of season in Florida and there was no one there. The place looks straight out of a mid-sixties architecture text book. You can tell it used to be a nice, hopping, place-to-be. Full facilities, from what I saw - though it was staffed by one friendly woman at the desk at 8am on a Sunday. When we finished our round of 18 at 1130, she was still the only one there other than a groundskeeper.
Now, as for the course it's self. As I stated in the title, this place used to be grand. The front nine that we played twice because the back was being seeded was a well designed course. It's pretty open and everything was in the right place. That being said the conditions were horrid. The tee boxes were sand pits, the fairways played like roughs and included at least 13 types of grasses to complement the 5 types of weeds. The greens were shaggy and each had a unique problem. Either weeds, gopher trails, holes or sand spot - each presented a challenge. A classic goat track. One of the worst courses I've played in the area. The woman at the counter knew it's was in rough condition and made a point to tell us that the person responsible for it has since been let go. Judging by the amount of people playing and the size of the community that was built around this course, they just don't have the resources to sustain the track as it was in its glory days. I'd pass on this until I hear otherwise.
And one more thing, why do they water when people are playing? It's not July.
Never Again
I will never again book for Indian Lakes Estates. They close up shop whenever they want and nobody was there at all and I drove over an hour to get there only to find out they closed the place for the day. Also, they are only using their front 9 as the back 9 are under construction but they aren't telling anyone that. This place is horrible and I will never be returning.
Cow Pastures are in better shape
No one working in the clubhouse or snack bar. Does not tell you this when you make online reservations. Course looked like it hadn't been mowed for a couple of weeks on the front nine, back nine so overgrown that in order to play 18 holes you have to play front nine twice. Tee boxes and greens not mowed. Fairways had no grass, but were green from all of the weeds. With the lack of effort put into this course, you are better off playing elsewhere.
Weeds and Mudd
This course was in horrid condition. For the price I guess it is what you get. But with few exceptions there was no grass on the tees - only weeds. Birds have torn apart the fairways which are mostly mud piles from the bird damage along with some weeds. The greens aren't much better - getting a straight putt is almost impossible. They are bumpy and again lots of dirt and weeds.
The guy who greeted us outside said he didn't think they were accepted GN anymore. (Even though I paid online for a Hot Deal???) Lady inside was nice and made up for guy outside.
Overall we won't be going back to this one. WAY too many other nice courses around. This one is a goat track.
This course is a good value.
Found the course to be in great shape especially the greens.
Update from last review
Gave this course another chance since new Greenskeeper took over. Course is back in good shape. In fact the greens are faster than before they went bad last year. Fairways are sparsely seeded but much better than last year. I'm glad they've brought it back. I've always loved the design of this course. Carts have windshields but no bag cover. They have both gas & electric carts. Will definitely play again.
Once a good course but now in shambles
Under new management & hadn't started to get things together as of 8/31/12. Front nine hadn't been cut in a day or so. So fairways looked like rough & rough was rougher. Greens were slow & not looking well. Back nine hadn't been cut in days.
