About
Lake Wales Country Club boasts a classic Donald Ross design that players of all skill level will enjoy. Built in the 1920s, the golf course has a different look and feel than most modern courses. Rather than exaggerated hazards and dramatic contouring, the layout blends seamlessly into the natural landscape. The routing of each hole was determined by the existing contours. Like many of Ross' designs, the phrase "hard par, easy bogey" holds true here. The layout features small greens with crown centers that are sloped back to front. Rough borders the fairways and the wide-openness of the course means that wind will often be a factor. Lake Wales C.C. is a challenging but straightforward golf course. There are no trick holes but there are several holes that will make you think.

First time playing here
This was our first time playing here, for the price we paid I thought it was excellent value.
Some of the fairways were not great (we just took preferred lies) and some of the greens were very good.
Considering Florida had just had a very cold spell
I thought it was very good.
I liked the layout and thoroughly enjoyed my round.
Course is Coming Back -Greens are in great Shape
I played this course previously and it was not in good shape. It is a vast difference -The bunkers still need some work but the rest of the course is 180 degrees better than the last time I played it. Well worth the funds. Continue to improve.
Best shape
This is the best shape the course has been in In years. Greens are in very good condition and there is grass on the fairways now.
Fine Time
Haven’t been down for a couple of years but still enjoyed the experience. Paired up with two locals and a real character. Good players to sbare a round with.
Very slow
They allowed a group of 4 to get in between tee times. They started basically on our assigned tee time, and they were slow as well. We had to wait at least 5 minutes for every shot. paid for 18, but stopped at 9. Rate was cheap, but there are better things to do than waiting for your next shot

Donald Ross design February conditions Nice greens and little fast had a great time can't beat the price

Been playing golf 35+ yrs it's a true Donald Ross course it's February conditions ,$40 no brainer,you will not be disappointed ,play the right tee boxes for you handicap and Enjoy
Good Round
Greens were in really good shape, fairways for the lack of rain were okay. Will play again.
Mostly wide open but it has its quirks. Weathered last week's deep freeze rather well.
Enjoy Lake Wales Country Club
Really enjoyed our round. Definitely plan to return. Loved the layout. Course in pretty good shape considering the current drought and generally dry conditions this time of year. Meet Ronnie in the pro shop before playing our round. Ronnie was very friendly and helpful.
Save your money $$$
Other than decent greens, everything else needs work. And, green fees are high for what you get.
Not up to Par
I think I heard might be selling? Definitely not up to par. If hadn’t already paid would not have stayed. Needs a ton of attention will take a few years to fix it. Traps and carts were good but honestly that’s all.
Better then it’s been
Conditions are better than they’ve been, Paid 40 on a hot deal and had a good time. But that being said I would only play here to have a practice 18 and that’s about it.
