Summer beat it up
Played over the winter months, the course was in excellent shape. The summer is beating the course up,can use some water.
Little Gem???
Read previous reviews and had high expectations for the course. Staff was helpful and friendly. As a single, I arrived an hour early for my tee time. No problem, pro shop lady went out and talked to starter. He let me out as a single 50 minutes early. Pace was excellent. Canadian couple in front of me stayed on good pace for nine and then stopped for lunch. Back nine was very slow due to an elderly threesome who refused to let me play through even though they had two holes open ahead. Tees were short on grass. Fairways were ok and greens were just ok. A little slow and bumpy. Grass was not a nice consistent color. Definitely a disappointment from what I expected because of the glowing reviews on GolfNow. I drove two hours to find a two star golf course. For this time of year, the $25 fee I paid was about right for the course. Decent layout but not as challenging as I was led to believe I would find. Would not drive two hours each way for this course again. If they think they think they deserve a better rating, I suggest they visit Webbs Reserve in Babcock Ranch, a 4 star, new course that deserves the $100 fee they charge.
A quality and quiet course
This course is almost literally in the middle of nowhere - and that is part of its charm. It is still in season - yet on a beautiful Sunday morning I showed up, paid for a few things in the pro shop, got my cart key and teed off solo - having seen only one person. Pro shop has plenty of supplies. Cart was squeaky clean - no GPS but scorecard had an accurate course map. Tee boxes are excellent. Fairways were good - a little dry - but that helped my rollout. Greens were excellent - but slow. Plenty of doglegs - especially if playing from the back tees. Water on a few holes just to keep things interesting. When returning the cart - you put the key in a drop box. A country club - nope. But a relaxing round on a good course - worth the drive.
One of the best course in the area.
A well maintained course. The fairways, tee boxes, and traps are in good shape. The greens are bumpy, but overall ok.
One more time...
This is the fourth time this year I've played here. Conditions are good and for the area at this time of year the prices are very good.
Awesome layout,
First time playing, always wanted to and wish I would have sooner. Fantastic layout, very challenging holes. Course condition was great from tee to green. Very well maintained and great price. Call and book easier than golf now.
Find the Marshalls Something to do ...
Hate being watched by marshalls because they have nothing better to do .. they watched us for half of the 18 holes ... not that we were doing anything wrong ... too cold for regular golfers to be out ... they were bored
Out of the way, but in good shape and good prices
For the third time since the beginning of the year my regular course has raised their rates. It's tourist and snow bird gigging season, it happens every year. I've never understood haw they have the nerve to charge more if the amenities or conditions haven't improved.
Indian Lake Estates prices are higher than they are in the height of summer , but, the course is also in better condition. A little drier with more release on landing, and the fairways and greens are a bit more lush.
It's a nice course...very little water that is in the line of play, most of the fairways are generous. But, well positioned fairway bunkers are a risk, and trees cut off some of the doglegs, so you still need to think your way around the course.
I really wish this was a bit closer to home but it is certainly worth driving down a few times a year.
Worst Golf Experience I’ve Ever Had
Me and my Wife decided to go out on a Wednesday morning to play 18. She is fairly new to the game typically shoots 100-110 i’ve been playing for 4 years and shoot in the mid 80’s for context. We were paired up with a Father and son who were decent and fun to play with. We arrived 20 minutes early and we were rushed to the first tee in thick fog. Played the first 3 holes blind. Eventually a twosome caught up to us and I decided we should let them play through they took about 15 minutes to play through and we waited. The course started to get backed up with Senior locals playing from the front tees while we waited. From that point on we were harassed heavily from the staff and rangers and eventually blamed for holding up the course we were moved to the back 9 and had to drive by the groups who called in on us and were heavily judged. My wife at that point didn’t feel comfortable anymore and honestly didn’t want to continue playing. It was very disrespectful and honestly a shame considering we were on pace to play a 4 hour round with 15 minutes of waiting on the twosome to pass. The staff apologized after the round and blamed the locals but it just doesn’t make it any better. The staff runs the course not the locals. It was very unprofessional from them i’ve never had this issue at any other course in my 4 years of playing golf. Needless to say I won’t be back for another round in my lifetime. Not to mention the greens on this course are shag carpets and no matter what you do they are pretty much unputtable. Worst round of my life. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Also we ended up playing 18 holes in 4 hours and 20 minutes with Two beginner golfers. Which yes is a little over pace but not that dramatic considering we waited 15 minutes on the twosome and the embarrassing drive to the back 9
