Coyote Preserve Golf Club
About
Coyote Preserve Golf Club in Fenton is one of the only courses in the area designed by Arnold Palmer. The course has a hilly terrain that provides plenty of elevation changes a well as stunning views. Tumbling across deep ravines and native wetlands, the layout requires many carries over dramatic depressions and water hazards but many are seemingly intimidating but actually quite reasonable. Massive, finely sculpted bunkers strategically frame the greensides of many holes. While some of them are manageable, others are deep and sod-faced. The tricky hazards in conjunction with the dramatic elevations demand both accuracy and creative shot-making. The golf course has a memorable finish with a par-5, risk-reward hole. There is ample room off the tee on this downhill, dogleg left hole and it presents a few different options for the second shot. With some thought, scoring par is definitely a possibility.

#1 par 5...hit your drive over the white post. 2nd shot left of bunkers Photo submitted by Remmy1974 on 06/15/2016
Great course!!!
The elevation and scenic views make it feel like a premier up north course. I would definitely recommend this course!
Coyote preserve 7-6
Loved the coarse...glad went off back early as day got real hot real quick. The back is tougher. I loved the par 7 par 5 double dogleg. You best have your a-game. A little rough on green 17 but looks like they are correcting it. Overall "very good" track.
Great course, but not anything else
Let me first start of by saying I enjoy playing Coyote. I went twice in a week, but let me tell you the pace of play is the worst I have seen on any course I have ever played. Both times I played here it was PACKED. I have no issue with that, but both times when we got there way early for our tee time and they just pushed us to get to the tee box. Tee times are literally pointless. The first time we were held up and packed with 3 in front of us and 3 behind us. The starter basically was there to just collect the slip at the beginning. At one point the second time I was there, 3 foursomes and a twosome teed off in a matter of 15 minutes. The pace of play is absolutely ridiculous. I love how challenging the course is, but please, PLEASE make groups wait on the first tee to get some spacing.
Beautiful
The course had some amazing elevation changes that made for some awesome tee box shots
Fantastic
Course was in great shape. Great layout. Water and elevation changes on several holes. It’s worth the trip.
Very well maintained course
The Coyote Preserve is extremely well maintained and is located in a scenic, woodland setting South of Linden. It has the feel of an “up north” course without the long distance travel! The course is quite challenging and fun to play! You won’t regret booking a t time at this course! My only criticism is that like many courses I’ve been to over the last few weeks, they seem to think the COVID pandemic is over. None of their staff in the pro shop or clubhouse wore masks and there were no safety measures i.e. partitions between customers and staff in the pro shop or clubhouse.
This was the most difficult course I have ever played and I have played .
This was the most difficult course I've ever played and I have played over 150 courses in the US and Canada.
Great vistas
Excellent course
My favorite course in the area. Pristine and challenging.
Top Motch
This course is challenging and the greens are unpredictable depending on where you land. Best course in the area. The staff is both welcoming and professional. I love this course.
Solid Course
Great course! Would def go back. Good price for a challenging course.
Slow
3rd time playing this course, overall great track! But the overall pace of play is terrible here. I don’t know if it’s how the course is laid out but every time I played here it’s been a 5 + hour round.
GEM
This is one of the best golf courses in the state of Michigan. It is challenging sometimes and rewarding other times. But one thing is for sure, it is beautiful, amazingly designed and very well maintained. It was an hour drive that I will be happy to make again in the future.
