Coyote Preserve Golf Club
About
Coyote Preserve Golf Club in Fenton is one of the only courses in the area designed by Arnold Palmer. The course has a hilly terrain that provides plenty of elevation changes a well as stunning views. Tumbling across deep ravines and native wetlands, the layout requires many carries over dramatic depressions and water hazards but many are seemingly intimidating but actually quite reasonable. Massive, finely sculpted bunkers strategically frame the greensides of many holes. While some of them are manageable, others are deep and sod-faced. The tricky hazards in conjunction with the dramatic elevations demand both accuracy and creative shot-making. The golf course has a memorable finish with a par-5, risk-reward hole. There is ample room off the tee on this downhill, dogleg left hole and it presents a few different options for the second shot. With some thought, scoring par is definitely a possibility.

Great layout
Course was in fairly good conditions even with all the rain. Challenging but fair
Nice course & challenging also.
To start with, they let my wife ride with me with no hassles so that was a big plus! (If they wouldn't have I would have went elsewhere.) I played by myself with my wife riding and it was a very nice enjoyable round. I like playing this course & I got a good deal on this day. The starter was very nice instead of what you usually get at places. I have seen the greens better there but this is an over-all very nice course to play. If you haven't played it it is worth playing. We saw some wildlife and some very pretty scenes.
Take on the challenge
The course offers a nice challenge. The changing terrain is interesting. The bunkers were in bad shape and more like cement than sand.
slow play
love this course but they were sending lots of twosomes out and a couple singles which just slowed play down, no rangers on the course.
Beautiful course
We loved the course. It is in beautiful shape and it's very attractive. The greens are challenging but well maintained. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately we got rained out after the front 9 but we will definitely go back to use the rain check. This course is very well priced for the quality. Highly recommended.
Coyoto Preserve...
Was disappointed that the course put too many people off the back nine. They let 2 guys with 2 carts off behind us and balls were landing beside us. Not ideal. We left at hole 16 for fear of being hit. The guys behind us were there to play 'speed golf' and not that the two of us are slow. Other than that, it was a nice challenging course.
michigan vs arizona
I live in scottsdale where the price of golf is out of control!
The Preserve rates up there with $200 plus courses like Grayhawk and Troon North. Great challenging layout, views, carpet-lined fairways, and large smooth rolling greens. Love this course!
Course lives up to its tagline.
Up north course feel right on the edge of the metro area. Both pro shop, starter, ranger and beverage cart staff were friendly and helpful. Course is scenic and challenging with great elevations and dynamic hazards. Looking forward to playing there again, especially if we can get another round for the value we paid.
The coarse was in great shape
We were paired with another twosome , we had a great time and you can,t beat the price $ 25 we got around in 4 hours no delays
golf heaven
great views, wide open plush fairways, scenic holes, no suburb houses, plenty of elevation, local knowledge does assist player, i knew it was a nice course, now i really know
Ready to play again
Golf now hot deal made this course the best for the price we paid that I have ever played. Course is maintained very well. Thick rough and clean fairways. Sand traps were a bit dry and rocky! Staff was very friendly and thanked us every time we saw them
Great Place to play
The course has a great mix of holes that made for an interesting challenging game. I will be back.
The perfect course
Beautiful layer out course. Large fairways. Well-groomed rough. Mature trees. A challenging course with hills and valleys. A must play again.
Good Job Arnie
Everything's always in good shape; the greens, ways, facilities etc. Carts could definitely use GPS, as the yardage seems to not be marked in many places. It was fairly early in the season and I thought the greens rolled nice and the bunkers were in surprisingly great shape. The last few times I've gone though, I was only given the option of a few week old sandwiches to chose from out of the fridge. Overall it's a nice place, great design, just not going back particularly for the grub.
Challenging
This course is not for the beginner , you have to know your clubs and how to place a shot. Beautiful course and in great condition.
Need GPS
GPS in the carts would improve the golf experience by 500%. In lieu of GPS, placing yardages on sprinkler heads would improve things by 100%. Both or either addition would decrease playing time by 30 min. (?) easily. Course was in great shape. No sign of winter damage on greens.
The challenging terrain and some distances between greens and tee boxes make walking not an option. The club house hosted a private function that day. We were limited to hotdogs on the patio.
wonderful
It's a little pricey and takes a while to get to from metro Detroit, but it's worth it. Beautiful course with great views. Challenging. It's in excellent shape with no signs of problems from the harsh winter. Round took five hours but it didn't feel like we were dragging on.
Challenging and in good condition.
Course was in great condition. Pace of play was perfect and the layout was very challenging. Would recommend to anyone.
Coyote Preserve
For the money, this was an excellent course. It has an up-north feel, and is very challenging with elevation changes, bunkers, and rivers/lakes. I had to play just about every club in the bag. I would definitely play strategy game error on the safe side with this course. I paid $21 for 18 holes mid-day. The course was crowded and the first tee had about 3 foursomes waiting to tee off. The course superintendent was somewhat rude in trying to move people along - but still tolerable. Overall, for $21, not a bad deal and great and challenging course!
